I've seen the first Harry Potter (on cable) but not the second one. The new Harry Potter film is getting amazing reviews.

Question: Will those who have seen the second one let me know if it's necessary for me to see that one before I see the third??? I hope not....

Mmmm...it just depends on how much you care about following the series. From what I remember, book 3 doesnt have any key plot elements that directly relate to book 2, so I think you'd be safe. But, if you are interested in following the rest of the series Book 2 will be a must read/view.

The third HP is sick. I saw it on Friday and it special effects are what makes the movie. There is no need to see the second movie before the third. The movies are just like the books, you can watch them with out seeing (or reading) the others

Eh, what does sick mean? Like in the stomach? I wasnt aware a film had internal organs.

to see the third film, and understand it, you don't have to have seen the second one, but the second one is quite good and you should see the second one at some point.

Ginny, I hate to repeat myself, but you're sick!
Now, make sure you clean up your room and closet, and we'll go buy you some sandals (and shoes, whoop-dee-dee!)

I just recently watched the Prisoner of Azkaban and it was the first in the series that wasn't an absolute pile if garbage! In fact, it was pretty decent! Better acting, far, far, far superior direction, improved cinematography, and more attention to detail. The first two films were so boring and bland, they were like the Tomb Raider movies, totally inane and vapid. I hope they stick with Alfonso Cuaron or someone else who has a clue on how to tell a story. Just no more Chris Columbus! That guy is a horrible director! Anyways, I have never read the books and don't plan to, despised the first tow films, and yet I enjoyed this one, so I'll give it my recommendation, and no, you don't need to see the other films to follow this one.

That is a bold statement there S. The first two cannot be considered "Great" but I think that the word that fits them the best is "Okay". I wouldn't go so far as to call them garbage. I do, however, agree that the third is by far the best.

It was weird, I actually disliked the film more than the first two. I realized during it that it may be directed better ect. but I enjoyed the first two more. This may be due to the fact that I was two years younger when I saw the 2 verse the 3 and a year younger when I saw the 1 so my perspect might have differed. To compare and contrast them truly I would have to see them again.

I think the 3rd movie was good...it had a little more humor, like some things that my 7 year old nephew can't quite understand yet, but something that i can get a laugh from...haha, although he still laughs with me...

The 3rd film was the best deffinatly. You should see the 2nd film but it doesn't matter when. I think Harry Potter has a bad influence on kids in America because when I moved from England to Hawaii one classmate of mine asked if there was magic in England. She was really serious aswell.
