The "FKA-EG75" method, whatever that name is supposed to mean, looks pretty good. Agree with Bafe.

Who's going to take up the honourable and joyous task of tallying the scores?

And let me just throw this out there: Okkervil River = The Dark Horse!!! Cool

Why do we have a post / length of stay requirement? Is this to say that those who haven't contributed in the past don't have as valid opinions as those who have?

I don't really like the twenty album format, only because I've listened to a lot more, but it will suffice for the intentions of this project. Don't expect my "Official" list until January, but I will try and post one in the works in another thread soon.

I think membership limits will crack down on people trying to double vote. And it would be sad to have something like a Britney Spears fan club get ahold of a link to our board and persuade all of there members to register and vote for Britney as number one. I bet the rest of their list would be pretty lame as well.

I doubt that anybody would see these forums as that important. In addition, it should be fairly obvious if something similar to the situation described were to occur, and I'm certain that our members would be able to notice such a thing. I'm just saying if individuals do exist, that haven't been here very long or are not here yet, they should be welcome to post their lists and have them added to the talley. Unless their tastes suck of course. Wink

Regarding the Length of Membership Requirements:

We've had the rule in the past, but I think it's more or less to ensure that we're getting lists from people who are a part of the community vs. people who just drop in, post a list, and never post anything here again. If you're worried about people voting multiple times under different names, that's not an issue as we Mods can determine if someone has multiple IDs registered from the same IP Address.

We've never been super strict on enforcing it though. If someone looks like they're making an honest effort to be a part of the MC community and they don't have enough posts, I'd count their list.

I think if they see this post, they can very easily get 30 posts by Jan. 15th. That could be done in a day or two, so if they're really interested in partaking, I don't think it's too much to ask.

I mean, isn't that why Song Tag... was invented? To be able to get a lot of "cheap" posts.

I was actually going to mention this. I think it would be good if, once we start to get lists, no one one posts comments.

I don’t know about that, I know it is a lot of clutter to get through but that’s why you wanted the job! But part of this tradition is so that people can see each other’s lists and make comments as wanted. Some members’ opinions on here are highly regarded and valued so I am sure people will want to say a few things about their lists. Imagine the enthusiasm when people like mark, Max Jack, crazed and others (don’t get mad if I left you out!) who know more about music then all of us combined post their respective lists?

As for the membership issue:
Last year, they posted a link of the very front, main MC page and people took advantage and posted their lists. But like Eric already mentioned, the point is so that people don’t just come on, post once and never again. And at the same time, someone will see it and want to become a good, contributing member so it works both ways. But yeah, for now, the three months, 30 posts rule works well.

Mad Mad

I'm definitely in favour of comments after lists.

Just so you know, Frag., my anger has subsided to a low-level grudge. Big Grin

Heh, don’t be too upset with, I often mess up and I know it…

But how have you been Bob, haven’t talked to you in a while, hope all is well.

I've been good, Frag., as I hope have you.

I'm currently enjoying In Rainbows, which I downloaded yesterday - better than The Bends, not as good as Kid A Smiler

Hey, if consensus says so, then comments are cool with me.
