finally, somebody with the past is a grotesque animal as number 1. head and shoulders above any song this year. im going to do my list after christmas, because theres like 8 albums from this year im picking up, but the past is a grotesque animal will be number 1, because, well, its my favorite song of all time.

As a stand-alone song, yeah it’s fantastic. However, I like the way it feels in the overall scope of the album (which is filled with an immense variance of amazing songs) better, thus I have a few other songs from the complete album that I prefer a bit more. It will most likely still be in my top 30 songs but there might be a couple others from Hissing… above it.

I just want everyone to remember that if you number them, I'm going to give the higher numbers the extra points that I mentioned at the beginning. If you want everything to count the same don't number them. Thanks.

I considered this, but considering so many people put it on their 2006 lists, I figured it wouldn't make a dent in the 2007 overall list.

Oh yeah! Shit, it didn't even cross my mind. No biggie, it was a favourite of mine for the year. I don't really care about the competition aspect.

That’s a pretty good list Mago, it looks like I will have a lot of the same songs on mine. I never got around to hearing Super Furry Animals’ album since it wasn’t released here in the States. I do like their back catalog a lot though, is it as good as their older material?

But yeah, looking at your list, it reminds me not to forget the Bejar songs off Challengers and all of the great songs on the PB&J album.

I love it, top 10 for me. That said, I can understand why some Furry fans may not enjoy it. It's very smooth, with some great production (which is strange because BSS' producer, Dave Newfeld, produced it). It's sugary pop, for sure, but I highly recommend it. Also, I find the second half much stronger than the first. Carbon Dating was a runaway for my #1 song spot. No contest.

It's tough to make the top 30. It could change on a daily basis. I know I'm going to realise I forgot a few big ones, but I guess that's bound to happen when you're working off the top of your head.

Gronlandic Edit - of Montreal

I'm one of the few who actually likes this song more than The Past is a Grotesque Animal.

I did see you had The Past... 2 songs later, but still nice to see Gronlandic Exit above it (if only for a moment).
