Yeah, I mean the No Cars Go version on Neon Bible. And I know the Datarock album was originally from 05, but I think it got a US release this year, and I first heard it this year, so it should count.

I think the song list is easier. I think it'll be a couple weeks before my albums list, but yeah, I'm a trendsetter.

Eeker Really? I have had fits trying to compile my favorite songs. After 2 or 3 attempts at building a list, I scrapped the idea because I couldn't figure out anything more than my top 3-ish. I find that making an album list is way easier.

Oh Yeah, there's way more criteria I apply to an album than a song when ranking it. My albums list is still pretty up in the air at this point.

I have no idea what is going to win best song this year. Last year, I remember Crazy, Roscoe, Wolf Like Me, and Funeral, were favorites the whole time. I don't know about this year though. I would guess that Boxer and Sound of Silver will have votes for several songs each which may cancel each other out.

Anyway, should be interesting.

I'm going to predict that "The Underdog" by Spoon and "1234" by Feist are strong contenders.

Just wondering...

"No Cars Go", at least the version appearing on Neon Bible, was most certainly released this year.

However the EP version of "No Cars Go" was so much more fulfilling. Also, the cover of my copy of that EP is signed by Regine Chassagne, so maybe I'm biased.

I'm with Eric in predicting "The Underdog" though I don't think "1234" will get enough 'critical' votes. I'm thinking Radiohead might run away with it, if we could ever collectively decide which song is the best.

I think Okkervil River will have a lot of votes as well. That album just has so many awesome tracks.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final tallies for this one - last year I discovered a ton of great new music based off the final list. Now I just have to rack up 30 posts so that I can vote myself!

Go with the boy's that have multiple people promoting them as number one...

I think when all is tabulated...The Past Is A Grotesque Animal will win quite handily, with Someone Great snagging position number 2.

I'd say Paper Planes will also be a major counter, maybe even got the potential to win it.
