Post all things that are your favorites of 2007. Favorite Concert, Favorite New Band, Favorite New Trend, whatever you want.

I'm going to start with my 2 favorite guitar solo's (or close too it) of the year.

Shoot the Poets-The Cribs: Just love the acoustic guitar solo about halfway in. It's rare that an acoustic guitar would be may favorite solo, but this is damn good stuff.

WeirdFishes/Arpeggi-Radiohead: The first minute or so of this song (I know there's drums in the background) are just fantastic with the guitar. There's very few, if any, groups that can do so much with so little.

Best Live Performance:

The Avett Brothers performing at The Delta Fair and Music Festival in Memphis over Labor Day weekend. Their performance was high energy and awe-inspiring, as always, but the highlight was getting to meet them briefly after the show.

My friend had made my two-year old an Avett Brothers t-shirt to wear so when we ran into the band after the show I asked if they'd be willing to sign it for her. They were so excited and happy to oblige and spent about five minutes talking to us. Seth Avett, the guitar player, was just unbelievably nice to talk to and even ended up taking a picture of my daughter in her signed shirt with his cell phone. What a day.

Best New Voice: Marissa Nadler.

I know she had earlier stuff, but I had never heard it before this year. I really think she may have one of the best voices I've ever heard. Absolutely Beautiful.
