I really liked Aesop Rock's album art for "None Shall Pass" I thought the Hear in a skull balencing justice weight that have tiny guys in them was just so weird and cool.

And "Let's Stay Friends" by Les Savy Fav's album art was laugh out loud funny for me. I loved it.

Whoa, I love that one. Haha, just for that cover art I'm going to check these guys out.

Hopefully, you'll like it. I think a lot of people would love this album if they heard it. To me, this has Indie Rock Classic stamped all over it. It's quirky but with great hooks and a distinctive style.

I'm sorry, but this is still possibly the worst Album cover/Album title ever in history. It feels like they had a "Name our album and make our album art" contest and some 8 year old won. It's not professional or artistic at all.

No kidding, I heard some of their stuff on Myspace but I can't find the album anywhere. None of the local indie record stores even have it. His voice sounds wicked though. Did you just download it or do you actually own a copy?

Download. I'm pretty sure you can't buy it except as an import. Really unfortunate. Hopefully it'll get a US release someday.

None of those links work, Lir, at least not on my computer. All they do is bring up a blank page. This has been my experience on other forums with RYM pictures as well.

Those are pretty awesome cover, GG. That Angelic Process cover is enough to make me want to listen to the album. What's the music like?

This Cover is awesome, i really like it.

I also love this album cover (and album).

I wanted to say to Alchemy though... I keep trying to imagine your posts spoken with the voice of Christopher Walken, but it ends up sounding like Borat. Not sure that's the effect you were looking for...

I think the name, album-cover and music fit perfectly. For me 'Boxer' seems to represent Berninger's clash between intellectualism and masculinity, boxing always seeming to be a testosterone fuelled attempt to express male dominance... just see 'Raging Bull' as a point of reference. Obviously it's just a theory (something I picked up from Craig Eley's review: http://www.cokemachineglow.com/reviews/national_boxer2007.html ), but it's something you see throughout The National's work. References to earlier albums on Boxer seem to confirm this: 'womanly hands' on 'Racing Like A Pro' echoes 'Thirsty's 'girly arms' on 'Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers'. '29 Years' off their debut was a vunerable awkward concession of emotion which finds its way into 'Slow Show'. I think 'Alligator's title reflects its spikier angrier tone, wheras 'Boxer' seems to really exemplify the album's nature as a mood piece, with its cover complimenting this. Hmm. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this. People on MC forum's seem to be a clever bunch. Wink

For me it's Panda Bear's Person Pitch. The album art inside is also wonderful. But the most challenging cover art this year is for sure AC's Strawberry Jam. I love it. It's really so daring for an album entitled Strawberry Jam to have that juicy strawberry jam on the cover. Big Grin

Tiny mix tapes made an interesting top 25 of the best covers of 2007. I don't really agree with much of the choices, but it's always fun just checking out. The panda bear cover is awful...how can you choose a bunch of legs over wonderful natural landscapes?....

I agree that it's a good album cover. I really don't get why everyone calls it "daring" all the time.
