Slingblade is a badass movie; every time I see a watermelon or a canteloupe I hear the sound of the dad's head being split by the blade... I haven't seen that movie in forever, I need to rent it.

Seriously? Everybody now expounds upon unheard material? How?

Next, a thread concerning a petition for a new category for the MTV Movie awards: "Best New Film to be Released in the Year 2009."

It's an awkward thread title. The title is finished in the first post. I see what you mean though. We should start a thread where we talk about the best music we haven't listen to yet.

Wouldn't it be crazy if a big-time mainstream act released a AOTY contender? That would be super wierd at this point. ..kinda scarey to even think about, really..

I thought about that; I should have left the initial post open for discussion. Such as "Which album do you think largely gets ignored though it's the best album of the year" or something. Ah well, too late to edit now.

Unheard? Are you referring to Josh Ritter? Because..it's already out.

Oh, I see now, so the confusion was in the thread title. My apologies.

The ellipses, damnit, the ellipses...

Yeah, the album really is getting stronger the more I listen.

Why hasn't Metacritic added it to their site yet? Why hasn't anyone reviewed it yet?

I was at the airport looking at a Paste magazine today and noticed that Josh Ritter was on the sampler that came with the mag.

I know that some people have reviewed the new Josh Ritter album, including allmusic and the A.V. Club, Shadrach. If you really want an album to be added to the MC site you can contact a moderator; I know that they have connections that then have the power to add albums to the site.

The best album no one is talking about is Supersilent's 8. Seriously, give it a few listens and you'll be hooked. I think one reason for it being overlooked is that it can be a little hard to find in the first place. Well worth the search though!

I listened to 8 and, while I'll admit it's pretty interesting, it's not going to crack my top 20 -- or 30, for that matter.

I still didn't heard "afraid to dance" by Port-royal, but judging on my appreciation of the songs avalaible on myspace, that album could easely be my no.2 of the year (Wilco is first). I didnt heard In Rainbows, and that one will surely be in my top 20.
