I liked John Ritter's role in Bad Santa. Besides the fact that the movie is hilarious, he had a soft spoken, gentle role.

As for those Problem Child films, both of them are funny but I love how Junior always picks on Big Ben! Anyone else agree?

Anyway. The album is absolutely amazing. I don't understand why this hasn't smashed everything to pieces. It's not the album of the year, but it is so solid it's crazy.

Listen to "Mind's Eye" and tell me he didn't steal that piano and guitar beat out of the back of Spoon's tour van while they were sleeping. And the lyrical depth in "The Temptation of Adam" requires ten listens just to catch everything, and another ten to make all the connections.

Tempation of Adam was the first song that really caught my attention. I wasn't loving the cd until I got there and I was like "Oh snaps!" I had just parked and was gonna get out of my car, but the song coming on made me stay in for another 4 minutes or so, haha.

I think RL's point is a fair one, considering there are half a dozen threads specifically for this kind of post. I'm glad you're passionate about this album, but starting a new thread just to mention one album is unnecessary. If all of us started a thread for our favourite album, things could get messy.

I will check this album out though.

Yeah...I'm a big poster over at absolutepunk (under the name concernedparent) but a bit of a n00b here and I don't really know how things work. My bad folks. Hope this doesn't cause anyone loss of sleep.

Superficially The Tempation of Adam is an amazing story with great character and depth, but if you pay close attention to what the tempation actually is you will find an interesting parrallel to the biblical temptation of Adam.

The irony is, if he ends up saying "Let the rest of the world die, I want to stay in Eden" he will ultimately lose that very thing as a result. It's a really great theme of single minded obsession that leads to disaster.

I did not catch the biblical reference, but that's interesting.

Is there anyone that hangs out on this board that is actually interested in talking about music? Or do you just want to feel important by interupting other people's discussions with nonsense?

I don't know, I was just trying to have some fun (maybe too much fun with this Ritter kid) but I'll stop now. I do have 3,000 posts and I can't answer for everyone else but I think that people that have been here for more than 20 days know that I contribute fairly decently to these forums.

I respect that you have a good knowledge of music, and contibute to discussions. I have nothing against you personally. I'm just trying to point out that one second you are acting like you run the place and the next second you sound like some idiotic spammer.

I hate it when people act like elitist on forums just because they have been around for a long time.

Like I said though, I have nothing against you. I think your sense of humor has a place on the board and we can be sarcastic and joke with each other, just try not to be a jerk.

And what do I do to make you assume this?

You seem to be taking all this a little too seriously... Just look at it as idol chit-chat til more people have heard this album. I haven'g given it more than a couple listens because right now my mind is wanting something else, but with time I'm sure more will contribute to the discussion you're yearning for.

I think we can all agree that Ritter's best work was undoubtedly as Buffy's mum's cyborg boyfrie... what do you mean we're finished with humour?

Humor no longer exists.

Hate to be 100% off topic but nobody(?) has mentioned the one really good movie/roll for Ritter which is Vaughan in Sling Blade. If you haven't seen it, do so (and since humor is in fact dead you know I'm srs.)
