There are some nice choices here. I've posted this before somewhere, but I used to get my music video fix from the evil corporate behemoth MTV, albeit in it's lesser forms - mtv2's subterranean and mtvu.
Subterranean is (er was) an hour long program dedicated to indie/underground bands that actually had "good" both current and throwback (80s college rock) selections. Of course the downfalls were that about 80% of that 'hour' consisted of atrocious advertisements, the host interview segments with the in studio guest bands were pretty damn pointless, and the program was relegated to once weekly Sunday night/Monday morning at 1am Eastern (if it was played at all that week).
MTV2 almost made up for this by archiving each entire episode online (w/ video quality far superior to youtube grainy condensed superpixel shit) along with extra videos ostensibly picked by the artist's themselves. But the MTV2 website is RAM killing glitzy flash/ads up the ass and nearly impossible to navigate - hence the erroneous link to altmusictv. I think the show is still on though, but with a different format.
MTVU is a college exclusive channel dedicated to only playing music videos (so far). The limited rotation was usually crap but it occasionally played some indie rock selections. Both of these were mainly useful as procrastination tools . Now that I've graduated, I don't have access to MTVU nor a desire to stay up until 1 or 2 am to watch ads on MTV2. But I figured those sites could be a helpful resource to find/access videos that might otherwise remain buried under heaps of OK GO on youtube.

I didn't see many videos this year, but the most interesting i saw is Chemical Brothers - The salmon dance. I like when the big spiky fish follows the beat. The song is not that great, but the video is intertaining.

Yes, me too. I love The Go! Team.
I also like Justice's "D.A.N.C.E." video, even though I'm a little sick of the song. Nice, simple concept.
And I guess I like the "Icky Thump" video too, but I love almost everything the White Stripes do.

I can't stop watching the new Róisín Murphy video... Maybe it's the hat... Or maybe it's the sweet robot moves... Or maybe it's that it sounds like some song from the 80s (early 90s?) that is, for some reason, only surfacing now...
I gotta agree with Feist's 1234... it's so classic, and since the whole video is one entire shot, it's quite well done. Her My Moon, My Man is also really great.
One video many might have not seen is David Ford's video for Go To Hell:
It looks quite simple, but I think it's stunning, and again uses the one take formula found in the video for his former single I Don't Care What You Call Me, which is also great. Maybe I'm just in love with him.
I watched an absolutely abysmal video for Mistaken for Strangers by The National on YouTube. Stupid fast zooming and cheesey "shakey camera" shit with the band just looking as retarded as anybody else. WTF? Has anyone seen this piece of complete trash? I hope it doesn't damage their career.

I had no problem with the look of it, although I can't say I really got the concept. The song still kicks ass, regardless of what the video looks like.
If you hate shaky camera work, you'll probably hate this video for Blitzen Trapper's "Devil's A-Go-Go".

I can't wait for Vincent Moon to finish his documentary about the making of Boxer called "A Skin, A Night". The clips are outstanding, and everything claims it was supposed to be released this fall, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

I don't know about you, but I think the dance moves are hilarious. Especially during that first chorus when she does that ho-down-esque kick into the booth and then proceeds to kick her leg while pumping her palms to move to the next aisle. Hahahahahahahahaha...
