I love to see that more and more people are loving this song and this band. One of the great surprises of 2007!
I never hated any of you/I loved you all at the time

Björk : 'Earth Intruders' and 'Wanderlust'
Essentially, though Volta was a big disappointment, the two stunning opening tracks blew me away. Had the rest of the album retained their quality, it would be topping all my lists.
Siobhan Donaghy: 'Don't Give it Up'
My most listened to track of the year. A nice massive attack style beat at the beginning, then it melts into a beautiful, magnificent chorus. The vocal mixing is brilliant on this one.
MIA: 'Bird Flu'
I feel like the only one who couldn't get into 'Paper Planes'. Bird Flu was the first song from Kala I heard and it remains my favorite. The mixing of the tribal drums, chicken squawks, and children's singing is perfect.
Tori Amos: 'Smokey Joe' and 'Dragon'
Strangely enough, the final two tracks on Tori's American Doll Posse were originally planned to be kept as B-Sides. Thank god they weren't, seeing as they are the album's strongest tracks! The power of 'Smokey Joe's two vocal lines is a testament to Tori's production skills. 'Dragon' is a powerful statement delivered in classic Amos style.
Imani Coppola: 'I Love Your Hair'
Set to an industrial beat evoking Björk's "army of me", this wacky song is utterly compelling, proving to be the strongest track on the strongest album of the year.
Charlotte Martin : 'Angel'
Yes, it's a cover of Massive Attack's great single from 1998, but it's incredibly well done, keeping true to the spirit of the original yet adding a whole new perspective, as the best covers do.
Kate Bush - 'Lyra'
From the soundtrack of The Golden Compass, this song is incredibly simple, yet effective in conveying ethereal beauty.
Roisin Murphy - 'Overpowered'
A very funky song with excellent lyrics. I love this woman's distinct vocals.

I agree with you. My favourite song off Kala too. I mean, who doesn't love "chicken squawks" in their music? quote: Originally posted by AricBarlow:

I've heard good things about both of these ladies albums. Might seek them out. The albums, not the ladies. My stalking days are behind me.

Haha, didn't think I'd see that one here. Top notch song, though, and highlights Pimp C, misogyny and all.
