I actually like that, but then that may make me a Pawn who has to buck the trend. (Even though I have no real problem bucking the trend.) I just don't like telling people they're lemmings when they're in love. It's kinda like me saying, "You LOVE her?" That's incredibly rude and presumptuous. I always support my friends when they're in love, unless they're being taken to the cleaners. Red Face

I imagine you're not a big fan of Destroyer either, eh?

Yeah, Strawberry Jam is pretty much amazing. After a bunch more listens, I've decided I might like it more than Feels. By a wide margin. Sung Tongs still owns, though.

That gives me another idea for the title:
"Top ten albums that you think you're in love with but are actually just clouding your judgment by putting out early."

Hey Nougat-bro, you seem to have a lot of ideas.

Finally. I was kind of starting to worry that there is something wrong with me after the first 6 reviews this poor album got.

That's a pretty fair review. It's not as bad as stylus made it out to be, but not the masterpiece that Playlouder painted it as either.

Interpol is boring and I'm not sure why Turn on the Bright Lights didn't get a 6 too

a 6 for Our Love to Admire is pretty accurate to me.
so far, two of my most anticipated releases are letdowns: björk and interpol

Mix a little folly with your plans: It is sweet to be silly at the right moment.

Apparently the new album by Stars has leaked; I'll give it a good listen when I can. "Set Yourself on Fire" was a fantastic pop album.

Destroyer is hit-or-miss with me. I did, however, think that some of the best songs on earlier NP albums were Bejar's. I just think his stuff on the new album BLOWS.

I also like Strawberry Jam. I'd still put Feels and Sung Tongs above it though. Smiler

Also, I'm a little late getting to Victor Bermon's Arriving at Night record, which I'm really, really enjoying. Quite lovely.

I, for one, really like Bejar's songs on the new album. "Entering White Cecilia" is so-so, but the other two are great.

New Stars is pretty mellow. That's cool though. Smiler

I really like Enter White Cecilia. I just picture myself entering White Cecilia, and the song just clicks.

Color me hugely surprised -- The Smashing Pumpkins just turned in their best album since Siamese Dream. Maybe even better than that one, almost tied with The White Stripes for rock album of the year. It matches Icky Thump with intensity, blow for blow, though I wouldn't call the songs quite as strong. Despite this I just love the hell out of Zeitgeist. A whirlwind of hard rock and metal.

But then, I seem to enjoy 90s revival.

I've seen it mentioned by a couple others in here, but I've been enjoying the hell out of White Rabbits' Fort Nightly. They sort of sound like a south-of-the-border, Kurt Weill-ian version of the Walkmen. The piano playing and drumming are both awesome. One of the best surprises of 2007 so far.

It was not, I can guarantee it. Listen to it again, but this time with your listening ears.
