That about covers it I guess. Tell me about the best albums of the year. The only '06 album I see getting any sort of acclaim is Ghostface's Fishscale. That can't be the only good release of the year, can it???

For Hero: For Fool ~ Subtle
Food & Liquor ~ Lupe Fiasco

Of the few tracks I have heard from The Game's new album, it should be stellar

Try mixtapes. Start with anything by DJ Drama.

Audition by P.O.S. will be making my top 20 list. A couple others not mentioned that I thought were pretty good are Aceyalone, The Coup, and Mr. Lif

Clipse seem to be getting really good reviews, but I'm not sure I've warmed up to the whole cocaine rap thing.

Ghostface's Fishscale is an amazing album. I would definitely recommend that. Clipse is also good, but I never thought they were as good as everyone thought. The Game is alright. Lupe Fiasco is really good, very refreshing stray from today's common hip hop. Maybe wait a little bit for Eminem's new album to drop and see how that is. Em has lost focus since Encore though.

Fishscale was good, and More Fish is definitely something to look forward to (good album to close this year with). I dunno about Food & Liquor though, not too impressed with it. I thought I'd like that single with one of soul music's better singers, but meh not really. I'm definitely liking Doctor's Advocate.

Kingdom Come isn't a bad album. But compared to the rest of Jay's work it's pretty disappointing. I would only hold it as an average rap album.

Thats my top five, although there was plenty of other good releases.Neither a good or bad year for Hip-Hop.Don't get hyped up over those Clipse/Nas/Ghostface albums they are good but not great.

I think while not a classic year for hip-hop, there was still some really good stuff released in 2006.

A lot of people seem to think that Fishscale was overrated. Personally, I love Ghost and thought it was mostly great. Bit of flotsam near the end maybe. If you ask me, Clipse would win my vote for most overrated of the year.

Others I enjoyed in 06 were Spank Rock, POS, Rhymefest (although Build Me Up was truly awful), Murs, Sway, Aceyalone and Akala.

The best stuff I heard this year though, was Jedi Mind Tricks and People Under The Stairs. These two and Fishscale would be my top 3 of 2006.

Haven't really listened to Lupe Fiasco, or Nas, and I only just got hold of The Coup, so I've formed no opinion yet. Some potentially great stuff coming up in 07. Here's to a great year for hip-hop.

Honestly, if half of the proposed releases drop in 2007 it could the best year this decade since 2001.

I personally love me some Wu, so Ghostface was up there on my top 20 of 06. I love clipse's album. Killer Mike's mixtape I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind is real sick. Papoose is killin it. Uhh.... Rick Rizzle the rich nizzle put out some good shit (port of miami). Lupe's was alright.

I'm trying to remember what all I had playing a lot... almost any Lil Wayne is good (no birdman though!!!) TI's King was good.
