woah woah woah woah, what the funk? what are the three greatest hip hop albums ever made that Andre 3000 was a part of? I cant think of any Outkast album that can even be in a Top 50 of greatest rap albums of all time. And genre-breaking? hardly. Listen, I think Outkast is good, but not one of the greatest.
The only one of those "MCs" (more on that later) is Ghostface, and I probably wouldn't include him in my top five. The Game, he's good, but he doesn't have a particularly large discography and can't stand up to the greats such as Nas, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, or even Common. "The Roots" have had at least three different Mcs during their existence, so I don't think that you can vote them for an individual accolade. And I'm sure you're joking 'bout Fiddy.

Get Rich is an above average highlight in Fif's career -- by no means a hip hop classic -- neither a Reasonable Doubt nor an Illmatic. The G-Unit General has been around for a considerable amount of time and yet has not killed one verse. I think Fif peaked in the mixtape scene prior to his Interscope career, but even his status in the underground isn't worth five dimes compared to Cassidy, Papoose and Lil Wayne.
I was gonna post something like this in the 50 Cent thread but I'll express my opinion of Mr. Jackson here...
He is by no means the worst artist in the game. His flow, if anything, is uninspired but he can lay it down better than most chart topping bubblegum rappers. I was a fan of Get Rich and even enjoyed a few select tracks from his sophomore release as well as the recent Curtis. What's the problem with Fif? Well, his ego outweighs whatever pocket change worth of talent he has. Beef is his gimmick to make sales, and when he loses -- fair and square -- his dick falls off and bitches about it. He'd get more respect out of me and niggas that follow the soundscan if he took his lumps like a man. And let's face it if you wanna play hard you've gotta spit with some fucking intensity. For all his talk he's got a lazy delivery to show for it with all his aggressive energy dead and buried. Have you heard Fif lay down a verse in his younger days? Nigga was nice. And sure, we've got handfuls of hip hop artists who've got that trademark cocky demeanor but atleast most can carry a consistent level of quality. Ahem... Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and so forth...
But I'll give it up to 50 Cent for having a solid work ethic. It looks like G-Unit -- atleast for the time being -- is above Aftermath and Shady Records in the Interscope food chain.

Eminem isnt even the best white MC, I can think of three off the top of my head, MCA, Adrock, and Mike D (get the picture).
Sage Francis and Buck 65 are both a million times more creative and challenging than Eminem, and both very white.

I disagree. I think "Get rich..." will stand the test of time, especially compared to any of Jay-Z's work.

If Fiddy is remembered, it will be due to the travesty that he is, not for the 'talent' that he clearly doesn't possess. The man is a gimmick with children's book rhymes. Example from your favorite album Get Rich... "Heat"
quote:
Keep thinkin I'm candy till ya fuckin skull get popped And ya brain jump out the top like Jack-in-da-box In the hood summer time is the killing season It's hot out this bitch that's a good 'nuff reason I see gangsta's get religious when they start bleedin Sayin "Lord, Jesus Help Me" cause they ass leakin When they window roll down and that A.K. come out You can squeeze ya lil handgun until you run out And you can run for ya back-up But them machine gun shells gone tear ya back up God's on ya side, shit I'm aight wit that We reload them clips and come on right back It's a fact homie, you go against me ya fucked I get the drop, if you can duck, ya luckier then Lady Luck Look nigga, don't think you safe cause you moved out the hood Cuz ya momma still around dog, and dat ain't good...
He must keep a rhyme dictionary close by. He doesn't make any beats meaning that his rhymes should be tight, they aren't. All of the singles on Get Rick IMO, but whatever...That's my case in a nutshell.

Jay-Z will be remembered as as a rich shmuck who used to be an alright rapper a long time ago. Fiddy will be remembered as a rapper that gets it done.

Exactly. He's popular only because he's popular, and that's never enough for immortality.

Wrong. He's popular because he released one of the most successful rap albums of all time. Fiddy is the real deal. Grew up in Queens, drug dealer, criminal, shot several times. He raps about what he knows. And his music is truly enjoyable.
Here's the problem with your defense Hudson, neither success or street credentials make you a good rapper. Los Del Rio made a hit with "Macarena" but I doubt anyone here would claim it to be a great song. I'm sure we can all agree that what is popular or successful is not always good (and in most instances, it is quite the opposite). Regarding his street credentials, I'm sure he has plenty of it, but I'm not sure how many times you've been shot has anything to do with you ability to put words together. I've known plenty of people in my personal experience that have street cred, but are no talent 'rappers.' You say that he 'raps about what he knows,' I think that is the problem. Maybe if he read a book or two, and actually looked into his craft, he would be able to put together a few decent bars. But at this point in time, Fiddy is a joke spitting nursery rhymes to all the kiddies.
As a side note, I'm not sure how you can champion Fiddy for his swagger while disregarding Jay-Z for the exact same reason.
