I'm a big fan of De la Soul but haven't actually heard Buhloone Mindstate. I was going to mention The Grind Date. I think just because De la Soul have released their "classics" and The Grind Date is a decidedly song-based album and not an epic, people just gave it a 3.5 or a 4 out of 5 and called it a day.

Deltron3030 deserves a lot more cred than it gets.

Some albums I love and find to be (still to this day) some of the more creative ones out there are Busta Rhymes When Disaster Strikes and Extinction Level Event. Now I know Busta is way famous compared to a lot of other rappers who don't get the respect they deserve, but it's pretty much only his singles that get props (i.e. "Hands Where My Eyes Could See" and "Gimme Some More"). I remember reading through a list some Hip-Hop magazine put out a couple of years ago that was like the 200 greatest rap quotes of all time or some sh** like that and he wasn't even mentioned. There were some good lines in there, but most of it was all cliche and not creative/imaginative at all. Bottom line: These albums are hot ta def and deserve waaay more recognition than they get (so do all his other albums except Big Bang, but these 2 are the cream of the crop). And there ain't nuthin illa.
