I haven't actually heard this album yet, but it comes out in a couple of weeks, and judging from the free download that's available on his website, it's going to be a good one. Free download of Somalia
Don't know if everyone here has heard The Dusty Foot Philosopher, but it was easily one of the best and refreshing debuts that I have ever heard.

K'naan has already released "ABCs" and "Dreamer" from his upcoming disc, and let me tell you, they are both bangers! "Dreamer" has that kind of 70s groove, Jay-Z type beat, and his lyrics are ridiculous. K'naan may have just scored his first U.S. radio-friendly single. He may not need or care about that type of accolade, but I, personally, would love to seem him expand his fan base here in the U.S. His is a voice that needs to be heard because he actually has something to say and the credentials to back it up. Kudos, K'naan!
I'm also a big fan of K'Naan. I really like ABCs and Dreamer as well! I also heard "If Rap Get's Jealous" which is really awesome and features Kirk Hammett from Metallica which i think is a really cool combo and makes this song amazing!
truly an exceptional album, and quite frankly I am surprised at many critics' responses. It's clear to me that people know K'Naan is going to break out with Troubadour and want to be the first to say that he's just "okay." Troubadour is a breath of fresh air in a rap genre that has been stale as of late. Check out "take a minute" off his new album as well as "wavin flag"
I saw him in concert yesterday for his album release and let me tell you this guy is incredible. amazing acapella performances....all live music.... his lyricism and freestylin was truly exceptional. he is returning artistic merit to rap with a message in each song and MEANING.
Spead the word!!

I dunno. I found it harder to get into this album than his debut. The original "If Rap Gets Jealous" is less posture, more protest. The production on this album suffers from slickness, where the most compelling instrumentals from the debut had a bit of grit to them. I still wholeheartedly agree with his messages, but those messages can get glossed over by Pro Tools oppression. He needs to go more indie.
