Its a reality that Black Milk is one of the best young producers in the game right now, and is back with his second LP of the year. Once again, beat wise this is crazy.

Ah well, each to his own. Too many terrible guests for me, plus the drum and bass thoughout just seem flat to me. Thats been a particular problem since he changed equipment in the late 90's imo.

Snoop Dogg's Ego Trippin' has leaked btw.

Besides the Jazz Libs album, the two other Hip-Hop albums I have most enjoyed this year have come from Black Spade and Clutchy Hopkins.

Both those albums are fucking sick, particularly Clutchy. Any guesses as to who he is? Regardless, it's top ten material.

Who's clutchy? Take your pick from the underground Hip-Hop elite - Madlib, Doom, Oh No, Shadow, Flying Lotus...

My guess is that its MF Doom (seems like the kind of of wierd thing he would do), although musically it reminds me most of DJ Shadow in his prime for some reason.

I wouldn't worry about it, its just myself and my completely inability to accurately describe or compare music. Did you check out the Black Spade album?

I haven't listened to Del yet but I'm worried; its been getting 'unkind' reviews to say the least.

i listened to only four or five songs. it sounded promising. from what i can remember, he's more of a storyteller and he's got a flow with which you can pretty easily follow the story he's telling. i don't recall much of the beats cuz i was so focused on the words. i need more listens

P4K reviewed Del's
it's odd because the score makes it out as tepid but the review itself makes me want to listen to it right away.

i was hesitant about reading the review before listening to it first cuz i don't like being influenced but i couldn't resist the urge Smiler

That score is generous imo, particurly for the usually mean reviewers of Pitchfork.

The album put me to sleep. Truly tedious.

Very much leftfield, but the vocals aren't actually awful. Loving the atmospheric production.

Alopecia - Why?

Plus the Why? album for those who might have missed it.
thanx Turenne. i've going away tomorrow on vacation (skiing in the alps) for the week so hopefully being away for the Net, i'll be able to digest fully all the new albums i've gotten lately

New album, from the bay. MC named The Grouch, did an album last year with Zion 1.

Pretty consistent, a couple of cracking beats.

I'm listening to Dagha's 'The Divorce' right now, sounds nice. Laidback production, very consistent and if you like Insight or Damu the Fudgemunk then you'll love this.

Unfortunately I could only find it on iTunes, so I don't have a link.

Sorry about this, but this thread had far too many links to non-"legal" downloads. I tried to keep the integrity of the thread intact while deleting those links. Please only link to approved streams/mp3s.

Peace.

This is the first track released off of Big Boi's upcoming LP Sir Luscious Left Foot, it's pretty fucking awesome.

"Royal Flush" Big Boi ft. Andre 3000 and Raekwon
