I didn't need any help building my anticipation for it, but this helped to satiate me til it drops. They're sick.

So far all I've listened to is eMC and We Got It For Cheap vol. 3 (which Clipse announced they're giving away for free on their website), but I've grabbed the Jazz Liberatorz and I'm lookin' forward to it.

OH! And I got the Bizzy and Layzie Bone mix, but haven't given it a listen either.

(I've also listened to Cadence Weapon but the beats were extremely annoying.. so I forgot about it)

no, haven't heard it. I'll try to find it but if i don't i'll probably pm you

btw, saw Aesop Rock last night (the venue was a boat which holds concerts regularly). DJ Dusty of the Jazz Liberatorz opened the show.....pretty disappointing Frowner as his name indicates, Aesop (and Rob Sonic) rocked! Big Grin

The "Jazz Thing" you're talking about, is it the GangStarr the song or is there an album?!?

Anyone listen to Nicolay's (one half of Foreign Exchange with Phonte) newest album, a collab with a Texas MC named Kay? 10 minute album sampler.

Its perfectly produced, a real clean distinctive sound, a lot of soul and funk influences. Its just really beautiful music.

He also produced the banging 'What It Stand For' off the eMC album.

Kidz in the Hall's new album The In Crowd is due the 29th April. Tracklisting below.

1.) Intro
2.) Blackout (feat. DJ GI Joe)
3.) Paper Trail (feat. Phonte)
4.) Drivin’ Down The Block (feat. Masta Ace)
5.) Lucifer’s Joyride (feat. Gym Class Heroes)
6.) Snob-Hop (feat. Camp Lo)
7.) The In Crowd (feat. Tim William)
8.) Let Your Hair Down (feat. Skyzoo and Lil Eddie)
9.) Midwest Thang Pt’s 1 &2 (feat. Black Milk, Guilty Simpson and Fooch)
10.) Mr. Alladatshit
11.) Sean Na & Buck (feat. Sean Price and Buckshot)
12.) Life I Know
13.) Drivin’ Down The Block Remix (feat. The Clipse and The Cool Kids)

It seems mandatory for a new underground album to have appearances from Sean P, Ace and Phonte.

Hey guys, I just wanted to pop in and say that you're posts are NOT going unnoticed, I simply am having trouble finding most of the stuff mentioned in this thread.

Here's what I've heard this year:

Lil' Wayne The Leak EP - Hoping that The Carter III finally drops sometime soon, but these tracks are all pretty solid.
Atmosphere Strictly Leakage - Very nice, can't wait for the official album, but this is a banger.
Why? Alopecia - I wasn't too impressed, but i don't particularly like Why? anyway.
Ghislain Poirier No Ground Under - I'm not sure if this is last year or this year, but it is a pretty solid album.

I edited my last post, I skipped over a word Frowner.

Thanks for the link, I just found the eMC album too, I'll post some thoughts on the two later.

Peace.

The Nicolay album is excellent imo.

Once again, really gorgeous positive music. 'Grand Theft Auto' is an early runner for Hip-Hop track of the year.

BTW Talib Kweli could be dropping another album this year, a collab with the over looked and very sexy singer Res.

not a fan of the jazz liberators release. pretty boring actually - too much smooth jazz. also, the ending to just about every track was terrible (stop yammering about your musical influences and rap!).

The production is quality. I'd put this on a definite Jazz/Hip-hop infusion list, and I actually like most of the lyrics and interludes, it gives the album a nice laid back rhythm that suits the concept nicely.

I have a feeling this EP was released last year, but its another nice slice of free hip-hop.

Hopefully they will drop their sophomore in 08.

Haven't listened to this yet, but on the strength of The Perceptionists album and the tracklisting/production credits, I'm guessing its going to be pretty nice.

I'm halfway through DJ Cam's Lost and Found and I'd probably be willing to say this is the best thing I've heard all year. It's not groundbreaking, but it appears to be an extremely solid fucking album.

Pete Rock's newest has leaked. Supposed to be better then most of his 00's work.

A Kidz In The Hall mixtape is doing the rounds as well.

The Black Spade album is nice, a must for Dilla and Ta'Raach fans.

Pete Rock's newest is boring however.
