So what are you looking forward to in Hip-Hop in 2008 in general, or more specifically, in new releases?

For me...

Caltriot - Black Milk.
El Che - Rhymefest.
The In Crowd - Kidz In The Hall.
Murs for President - Murs.
Sacrifice - Substantial.
Raw Footage - Ice Cube.
The Greatest Story Never Told - Saigon.
NY's Finest - Pete Rock.
Rising Down - The Roots.
Bun B album.
NYG'z album.
Black Milk, Sean Price and Guilty Simpson album.
Big Boi's solo.
Masta Ace's collab album.
Foreign Exchange ablum.

Artists that haven't been confirmed but need/are due to drop something in 08...

Andre 3000.
Raydar Ellis.
Termanology.
The Clipse.
Jay Electronica.
Spank Rock.
Raekwon.
Method Man.
Jedi Mind Tricks.
Blak Twang.
Edan.
Black Market Militia (Tragedy is locked up though).

Basically anything from Nature sounds, Duck Down, Well Deep records and Wu affialiates would be nice as well...

Both volumes of War And Peace were embarrassing, but Cube's last album was his best since Predator. His first three albums represent one of the strongest runs of form in hip hop history. I still look forward to a new Cube release.

The English language is mine to use as I see fit.

Did you hear his lead single?

His last album was above average imo.

I haven't a clue when Murs is dropping. I was hoping people would have some info on the artists listed, particurly on the second list.

I don't see any mention of Atmosphere here. Apparently, they just released an album online for free (I'm in the middle of downloading) called Strictly Leakage and they have a new album scheduled for April, When Life Gives You Lemons, Paint that Shit Gold.

If you like Atmosphere, this is a solid release. The beats are really organic and soulful and the albums rides nice. More on the beats, it does was Diddy couldn't on Jay-Z's "Roc Boys." I still need to digest this one, but it seems extremely solid.

MF DOOM has been quiet for too long. He seems to release music in shifts.

Have you heard "M.F. Doom - Supervillain Blends"? It came out last year. It's pretty dope.
I can rapid share it if you would like.

I think we can out Strictly Leakage down as the first dope Hip-Hop album of 2008. Ant and Slug are definetly on form throughout.

Another nice album, probably from 2007, is Substantial's Sacrifice, a debut album from an MC on Cunninlynguist's label, QN5. QN5 is a label worth watching in 2008, they have at least 3 projects lined up including a collaboration between Tonedeff and Kno.

Lil Wayne dropped The Leak EP, and let me tell you this is pretty sick. Production is really nice, the whole thing is really smooth. Check it out, the only bad thing about this is that it isn't longer (five tracks).

Discovered a new one yesterday:

Jazz Liberatorz. It's a trio of french guys but it's mostly american rappers and singers on it, very jazz influenced. For those of you who enjoy Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest or The Roots.

Mix a little folly with your plans: It is sweet to be silly at the right moment.

Yup excellent album. Probably the best released this year, although the eMC is my fave right now.

The Asheru and Apani B tracks in particular are stunning.
