Just wanted to know what everyone thought were the most overlooked albums of all-time (whether overlooked on here or whatever). Here are some of my picks:

De La Soul - Buhloone Mindstate
Masta Ace - Disposable Arts
O.G.C. - Da M-Pire Shrikez Back
Heltah Skeltah - Magnum Force
GZA/Genius - Legend of the Liquid Sword
Killah Priest - View From Masada
Rakim - The 18th Letter
Ill Bill - What's Wrong With Bill (I believe this one got unfairly dismissed by a lot of cats because of his Necro affiliations....but it's an ill album)

The Goats - Tricks Of The Shade is definitely the greatest lost rap classic. I don't know anyone else who's heard it. Genius from start to finish.

Wow, two Souls Of Mischief picks. Consider me beaten to the punch. Maybe two years ago, I saw Kanye West on TV playing "'93 'Til Infinity" on stage, and he was saying "They were like...the '93 me!" and I lol'd.

Also in the Hieroglyphics camp, I gotta go with Del Tha Funkee Homosapien - I Wish My Brother George Was Here.

One Cd I always notice that seems to be looked over is one of my favs.

MF Doom-"Operation: Doomsday"

Mostly all his cd's are overlooked even with his alter-egos.

I agree with a ton of albums on this list.
I firmly believe that the following are on the same level as "Illmatic":

Coup - Steal This Double Album
Brother Ali - Champion
Outkast - Southernplaya

"See I lent my shotgun to Kurt Cobain, and the mutherf*cker never brought it back"
- Xzibit

That album is really good, but I don't if it's really underrated. The people I know who listen to non-mainstream rap love this album...

Cee-Lo Green - ...Is The Soul Machine

If this was a just world, "Soul Machine" would have been twice as big as Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, since it's twice as good. Of course, now that Cee-Lo's hit it big with Gnarls Barkley, maybe his past solo work will get some recognition.

I'd like to second Buhloone Mindstate, which I think is De La Soul's best album. Operation: Doomsday is also a classic. Brother Ali's Champion is definitely worth checking out, although comparing it to Illmatic is overstating the case quite a bit. I'd like to nominate Breaking Atoms by Main Source. I think it's out of print now, but if you can get your hands on it, it's classic early 90s hip-hop.

It's been mentioned quite a few times already, but I'll say it again: Critical Beatdown by Ultramagnetic MC's. One of the great hip-hop albums of all time, with Kool Keith at his very best, yet so many people have never even heard of it.
