No, I live in a cabin in the mountains actually. But nice try. Wink

I hear what you're saying Frame, and I appreciate your passion and loyalty to Jay-Z. Like I said, Jigga just rubs me the wrong way. His albums are too poppy and over-produced for my taste. I like my rap and hip hop to be more raw and real. Jigga's just to glitzy and glamorous.

And like I said earlier, I watched him in a few recent interviews and he just seems like a real douchebag.

Of course, I could be wrong.

I'm gonna throw my opinion in here. I wasn't always a Jay-Z fan. "Money Ain't a Thang" and "Big Pimpin'" are among the most annoying singles to come out of rap in the last ten years. That said, those are just two songs, and Jay-Z has actually done some really impressive stuff.

I know it's cliche to drop this one, but 'The Blueprint' is, I think, his best record. It has a smooth flow, a lot of which probably has to do with Kanye's production, but it's just a solid listen overall. And 'American Gangster' is kind of a return to that sound, I think, and is a really solid record.

Now, I think it is a little hypocritical to condemn him for drug lyrics while extolling Ghostface. For the record, I think they're both great lyricists, and they both speak from similar experiences. They don't always have the same sound, Ghost is a little less glossy. But as far as mainstream rappers go, it's hard to beat Jay-Z.

On another note, I'm not sure I'm totally sold on Freeway...but dude has a great beard.

WHAT THE FUNK! Jay-Z is not a poser! He was never a poser; he doesnt bite, i've never heard him rap a wack line. Just because Jay-Z is a little conceited (very) and slightly egotistical (extremely) doesnt mean that he cant rap. And he's not what's wrong with Rap music, people like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, and Dj Unk are whats wrong with rap. Just a bunch of ringtone rappers with wack rhymes.

oh yeah, im sick of you bee-sterds dissing on Britney Spears. Im not like some Chris Crocker motha-ucka but I think that she has talent in her own way and relates to her fan base. If she sucked so bad, then how was she able to keep that fan base so long and keep pushing Gold and Platinum records.

Did you just put Soulja Boy and DJ Unk in the same sentence as Lil' Wayne. Look buddy we gotta talk. Download Da Drought III then get back at me.

Interesting theory. And although this really belongs in my "Britney" thread, I'll respond here.

She maintains her fanbase because there is always a fresh supply of 10-14 years olds ready to listen to her cackle and slut herself around the stage. Don't get me wrong, she's hawt, I'd do her. But she's a crappy mother and and even worse singer. She's a no-talent ho.

I unfortunately know a ton of people my age (tweeners) and adults like my sister who really like the "new" stuff by Britney.

My theory is that it's not the 10-14 years old that make the difference. It's the fact that it's a major label and the music is shoved down your throats if you watch television countdowns and listen to radio. It happens to include a majority of the 10-14 year olds but those who are strictly mainstream have been hypnotized...

Hudson changed his mind on Britney, interesting... Wink But yeah, I'll agree with the other two, she is a 'no talent ho' fo' sho Cool

Re Lil' Wayne: As far as mainstream acts go, particularly 'dirty south' artists, he is among a very small list of decent and intelligent music. The only other explicitly 'dirty south' hip hop that comes to mind for me is Outkast. Look, I know you're probably in New England somewhere, but you have to respect Lil' Wayne if you give any props to Jay Z. They both have tons of talent among tons of talentless top 40 'artists.' What exactly do you have against him?

You may not like Wayne, fine, I'm not here to tell you what you should like. I'm just saying as far as hip hop that gets legit radio air, Wayne is head and shoulders above the likes of Young "Joc," Soulja Boy, or anybody else in "Hip Pop." He isn't New York rap, which seems to be your preference (hence my asking/assuming your location), but his puns are excellent, he exudes confidence, and as lyrically graceful as you can ask.

I really like "reasonable Doubt" but thats about the only Jay Z i like. I recently listened to " American Ganster" and let me tell you that is is one of the worst albums he has put out. On one of the tracks he "samples" Little Beaver. In doing so he ruined this awesome song. for this i say PhUcK yOu JaY z

jayz is not a good rapper at all. He's had his songs, but all of them take from biggies lyrics. Its bullshit, Jayz also had Tupac Biggie, Big L and the ol' dirty bastard killed. I aint ashamed to say that i believe he did. People hear rap now, they think of Jay z, but who was better than him n the game a wile back. Biggie, pac, odb and big l. ODB signs to Rockafella and a week later dies in the studio wile jayz was the last person wit him? yea never a suspect, tupac biggie died, he was never a suspect but yet one of the closest men 2 biggie, and he didnt like 2pac so that says it all. Big L was in his way and he knew that as long as still lived he couldnt reach the top, dead. Listen to the black album, hes a freemason whos devilish and needs to get his lyrics back, im n underground emcee, and if i make it out, ill rip him 2 shreds, his rymes r wack and 4 that ill smoke em like crack remember that
