I never liked this guy. He always seemed like a poser. Now I know why my gut was telling me that.

Common has done some quality work, but he's primarily a woman's rapper. Now he's taking that even farther, into teenage girl territory.

woman's rapper? I'll admit he's a cornball, but sheesh...

However, 'Be' is awesome.

"Be" is one of the best hip hop albums of the decade. Common has a ton of great stuff before that too.

If you didn't hate him after he was in Smokin' Aces then I don't see why he's a sellout now. That movie is far worse than anything The Jonas Brothers have done.

All of this is completely true. Common worked with the JoBros - so what? I kinda like some of the JoBros stuff..."Love Bug" is an absolutely awesome pop gem, dripping with sappiness.

And, to respond to the previous post, I wouldn't say he is a rapper for women. He more closely emulates the sort of rapper that a woman would feel good about taking home to her parents to meet - he's a rapper, but he comes off as more of a gentleman than most ego-centric idiots these days.

"Be" is pretentious, unoriginal, and uninspired crap.

Leave him to his personal subjectivity.

I don't see how "Be" is pretentious. It's a laid back, feelgood hip-hop album. There aren't too many of those these days that aren't kinda boring. And it's really fun.

I dunno, the world could use some more BBQ hip-hop albums.
