i say Eminem is the most overrated rapper ever
his rap voice sounds dorky and as if he is a eunuch or something.
how anyone can stand listening to such a dorky & feminine sounding rapper is beyond me
his lyrics suck too.
i think he is popular just because he is White

Gee. More's the pity Eminem didn't really hit until 1999. Otherwise, he might have been perfectly cast in 1994's film Farinelli. But then I'm just being snarky, aren't I? Now Playing: American Public Media's Marketplace Morning Report

Eminem is unbelievably incredible. I'll leave it at that. As for overrated rappers, I would have to say that almost all "dirty south" rappers suck. They can sure nuff make you dance but they can't rhyme for the life of them.

What??? That is pretty much the only rap that I listen to, it is so funny and it generally has good beats. Okay!!! As far as M&M I don't really like him. He has good rhymes and is somewhat funny but I agree that it seems like he is famous because he is a white rapper. Wouldn't get nearly as much attention if he wasn't.

I haven't seen much media on the fact that Eminem is overrated due to the color of his skin, they usually just report who he is picking on at the moment. If he wasn't white he wouldn't be nearly as famous. Besides, all of his songs sound the same. (This is of course just my opinion, so please don't bash me for that statement). I don't hate him, and could care less about race, however, if he was just another black male rapping, nobody would care. Do you remember when Larry Bird said that he wished that the NBA would have more white stars, in the rap business, Eminem is that white star, more because of he is white than because of his talent.

Well congrats, you wasted your first post to pick on people because they have different taste than you. Very considerate. I am not big fan of rap in general, but just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad. Maybe you should just praise the music that you do like, which I'm guessing would fall into the rock discussion, see you there. ---------------------------------- Employee of the month awards are the opiate of the masses. Manson's cover of "Tainted Love" was a masterpiece though...a masterpiece of sh*t! HAHAHA! Anyway, Slipknot is as commercial as hip-hop and, although I've found Manson to be well-spoken, he treads the mainstream pretty closely. Eminem and 50 Cent are far and away the most overrated. 50 just hums along monotonously and, while Eminem can say a lot of words very fast and have them rhyme, neither of them has or ever will have anything real to say about anything and in 30 years will only be remembered as footnotes in a sea of commercial crap while people will still be getting off on Buck 65 and Sage Francis. Who is going to care how well Em disses Moby or how many 30 year old cars 50 has then? Meanwhile, Sage and Buck and the like have, I dunno, some artistic merrit and righteous social commentary which lasts a lot longer than materialistic rhymes. ________________________________________________________ "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. Larry Bird wished there were more white stars in the NBA so he wouldn't be known as just the best "white" basketball player in the NBA. He wanted the title of the best overall. I bet Eminem feels the same. If he had more white rap stars to compete against he might be able to escape the tag of being liked only because he is white. The point is to be judged fairly on an individual basis. And don't anyone dare to say that Larry Bird's greatness was amplified because he was white. Eminem may be overrated, but his success like Larry Bird's is/was based on skill and dedication.

Get the hell off of this site. You don't even know what hip-hop is. What was your aim? to change the subject? This is a hip-hop forum, dummy. Over-rated rappers: 1) Eminem 2) Snoop Dogg 3) Cam'ron 4) Guru 5) Buck 65 (good, but no genius) 6) Vast Aire (Look mom... no hands highlighted just how weak he is, Vordul is the man.) Can't actually think of the last four right now. 50 Cent? does anybody actually rate him?

Ok well i am not going to personally attack you, but...Vordul is not the man.Evidence to that fact is "revolution of Yung Havoks".That album was boring. Not to say he will not pull out a winner sometime in the future, but comparing both solo albums from can ox members.Look mom...kills it. Buck 65 is good but not a genious?Well...we shall see.I will wait to give him that honor after i hear his new album. It is questionable after the last one.Which osent bad it was just the biggest next step left anyone could take.Came out of nowhere. I dont know why u think guru is overrated.I agree his newest material seems tired. But he is one of the best rappers ever...and one half of one of the best rap groups ever.I think he deserves his just do. Also...i dont hate cam'ron.I think he funny. Not a great rapper. But always good for a laugh.

1. IN TOTAL AGREEMENT 2. I don't thihnk he's that highly rated. He' just devolved into a caricature of his earlier persona... an incredibly pop-savvy caricature of his earlier persona. 3. Yeah. Definitely. 4. What Impre Imprezu said

I agree Guru has a great, distinctive voice. Jazzmatazz Vol 1 is classic, along with many Gangstarr lps

OK. Glad i've inspired some response. Let me explain. Eminem: I don't think anyone can dissagree. Snoop Dogg: Some people think he's the best. Snoop Dogg started out with a bang and tired faster than the michelin man. Cam'ron: At first, he sounds like a top lyricist... until you actually listen to what he's saying. Guru: Now Guru is a legend. One of the important rappers. But lyrically he is dissapointingly obvious and weak. Good voice, it's true, and definitely deserves his props. But as a RAPPER, he is overrated. Buck 65: He's one of them rappers [although he's as much a rapper as Gil-Scott Heron] who can silence hip-hop-haters, but his songs get tired quickly. The track with Boom Bip (I still see ghosts) is awesome. But he generally lacks the energy that'll bring you back to his albums again and again. Vast Aire: i have to admit that i haven't actually heard Vordul's album, but going back to the Cold Vein, it's easy to see that Vordul held the album together while Vast was just the joke teller. Look mom... was a dissapointing mess. Okay, next on the list: 7) Redman 8) 2Pac 9) KRS One 10) Talib Kweli Protest all you want. You know in your heart that i'm right.

Agreed. Although i would put 2pac at number 1.I hate him and his music. When arguing about him everybodys argument is how prolific he was.I could care less...substance is more important...and he was not saying anything different than anyone else was.
