The movie’s not out so I haven’t heard anything yet but I am intrigued.

I had been wondering aloud over in the best of 2007 thread whether any soundtracks would make best album lists. I find it kinda odd that soundtracks seem to have disappeared from critical consensus. Anyhoo, I'm very keen to hear Greenwood's new film score. Perhaps it will end up in some later lists?

it is rare to see classical music cross over into the popular music scene, especially when it comes to such things as end of the year lists. there are many reasons for this (which i won't go into), but greenwood will not change this. from what i have heard of the score, it is eery contemporary classical - not exactly something that most indie music fans would dig, let alone understand. as far as soundtracks go, i would think the "once" soundtrack would get more recognition than the greenwood soundtrack as far as year end lists are concerned.
