I'm in a filmmaking class and I'm looking for some music for my next proj. I need something that depicts fear and pure evil, something similar to Mussorgsky's "Night On Bald Mountain". Any suggestions? The more bombastic the better.

Try the following but bear in mind that some of these may be hard to acquire;

Mozart - O Fortuna
Nobuo Uematsu - Liberi Fatali
Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture
Tchaikovsky - Marche Slave
Wagner - Ride Of The Valkryies
Beethoven - 5th Symphony
George Crumb - 'Black Angels' album

Anything by Xenaxis, Edgard Varèse or Le'Rue Delashay..

Experiment with those and hopefully you'll find what your looking for.

I would go with Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night).

"Threnody For The Victims of Hiroshima" by Penderecki is very disturbing.

Although it was written as a religiously exalting piece, Messiaen's "Quatour pour la Fin du Temps" ("Quartet for the End of Time") has some moments where its divinity is so sublime it is, actually, quite frightening. Evil, not so much, but taking something to such extremes sometimes can result in pushing through to its exact opposite. That oxymoronic height is reached from time to time, at least in my opinion, in this work.

Edit: Oops! Maybe I'm a bit late with this...

OK, and I know this thread is long defunct, but I thought of a perfect demonic piece: "Suggestion Diabolique" (Pieces, Op. 4, No. 4) by Prokofiev--solo piano, chord-clanging, hell-raising madness. Fucking brilliance.
