I am not certain that 2005 has been as strong as 2004, but I think it has been an interesting year with a few charming albums. After much internal debate, here is my year-end's list:
1. I am a Bird Now 2. Late Registration 3. Feels 4. Illinois 5. Arular 6. Apologies to the Queen 7. Mysterious Production of Eggs 8. Jamie Liddel - Multiply 9. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah 10. Black Sheep Boy 11. Gimme Fiction 12. Extraordinary Machine 13. Silent Alarm 14. Superwolf 15. Face the Truth 16. LCD Soundsystem 17. Beauty and the Beat 18. Separation Sunday 19. I'm Wide Awake It's Morning 20. Get Behind Me Satan

Is the final list going to be longer than 20? I think it should be. I think people might be slightly reluctant to rank highly an album that they know won't make the top 20. It's tempting to leave out such albums, otherwise you might feel like you're 'wasting' your vote. Also, I think this could make the list more interesting, because the user picks and Metacritic Top 30 diverge more the farther down you go. Just a thought.

it may change. no, it will definitely change and I may reign it in to 20.
*top 20, 3 'honourable mentions' for the sake of it, harmless really..the 20+3 will stay the same content wise (probably) but will switch around like I said.
**okay, didn't see people with top 25s...now a top 25!
alteration...BSS could NOT be held back, and have leapt to number 1.

I think most people are trying to be honest with their lists instead of manipulating the final total. I had stuff I on my list, like Nouvelle Vague and Crooked Fingers, I knew wasn't going to make the final list.

Looking back at it, I probably misinterpreted ericg's intent. At first I thought that he was suggesting that I lacked integrity. While I am new here, I have seen plenty of ericg's posts and that doesn't seem like something he would do. So I'm taking down the post and replacing it with this.
I still hold, however, that people may be influenced by the rankings and that one way to help mitigate this would be to post a long list so that more obscure/less popular choices are included.

I guess I missed your first comment(for the better???)
Anyway...I was looking at the list, and I will probably cut/paste all final scores, in somewhat alphabetical order, rather than total score order, to show ALL results. But that will be mid January when tallies will end. I will make the list a final 50. But, for now will only post Top 20's until Jan.10.

Sorry. But I will not be altering anyone's list. I can't go back to adjusting scores, or a lot of people will be doing so, and make it confusing for me. YOUR 1ST POST IS YOUR MOST HONEST, and altercations just propose influences that may adjust anyone's list on a daily basis. This seems fair, not only to me(doing the math, and not having to double-back and recheck), but also to everyone involved. I also mentioned this on page one somewhere, but not as explained as this.

I haven't been paying attention to anyone else's lists.
the BSS thing has come from listening to the album quite a lot during the last few days, if I didn't bump it up I'd be lying to myself.
