Okay- so I'm compiling my list, and I have to ask about one release this year. Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane at Carnagie Hall. It was recorded in '57, but wasn't released until this year. Metacritic counted the Talking Heads Live album and that Zepplin set. Do you Fiery F? It doesn't matter one way or the other because I think I'm going to be one of the only people voting for it. (Though I think that is more a reflection of the type of music fan this site attracts than the importance of the recording, as this album got more coverage than almost anything this side of LATE REGISTRATION.)

For what it's worth, J_D., while much of my list is in flux, Monk & Coltrane at Carnegie Hall has a lock at #1 for me. I also believe at least one other member's list that will feature it as well.

Good work on getting this off the ground, TFIF. It's coming along well.

Thanks. I'll fix right away. I did the first calculations very late, and will not practice doing so. Thanks for the catch. I've re-checked and that was the one mistake.

Well, here's my list. Going back and looking at my lists from the past few years has revealed that drastic change is inevitable, (especially past the top five or so). Anyway, I tend to judge "current" albums based on the number of times I listen to them. I suppose that makes sense... We'll see what it looks like in a year or two.

1. Spoon- Gimme Fiction
2. Sufjan Stevens- Come on Feel the Illinoise
3. The Decemberists- Picaresque
4. New Pornographers- Twin Cinema
5. Mountain Goats- The Sunset Tree
6. Sigur Ros- Takk...
7. Frank Black- Honeycomb
8. My Morning Jacket- Z
9. Okkervil River- Black Sheep Boy
10. M. Ward- Transistor Radio
11. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah- s/t
12. Bright Eyes- I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
13. Devin Davis- Lonely People of the World, Unite!
14. Andrew Bird- The Mysterious Production of Eggs
15. Wolf Parade- Apologies to the Queen Mary
16. Broken Social Scene- s/t
17. Stephen Malkmus- Face the Truth
18. Mount Eerie- No Flashlight
19. Silver Jews- Tanglewood Numbers
20. Fruit Bats- Spelled in Bones
21. Son Volt- Okemah and the Melody of Riot

My number 20 and 21 kept switching places, so I just went ahead and left them both on.

I've noticed a few lists from people with 5 or less posts. To keep with what has been stated earlier, and not to offend anyone, but, there should be a guideline to be honoured here.
Not to suggest anyone here would do so, but in case of sabotageing, or registering under new, different names to get two or more lists in, I have to set guidelines. Feedback welcome.
