I happen to be moving to Atlanta (on Monday), and am wondering what are the best places to see shows? What are the scenes (indie, pop, metal) like here? I'm pretty excited, as I think the ATL will kick KC's ass. (I may need to change my username, though.)

Farewell. I too am moving on Monday but will be staying in KC. Atlanta is "bigger" than KC yes, but I wouldn't think they would have all that many more places to see shows. That and I don't think their is an equivalent to Lawrence anywhere near there? I don't know, I haven't been to Atlanta that often.

Thanks, Pixie. I think Athens is the Lawrence of Georgia. Actually, I'm pretty psyched because many of my favorite bands are from the area (Mastodon, Deerhunter, Of Montreal, to name a few).
