I first saw this band at an appearance with the Warp Tour about three years ago. I had never heard of them before , but I was impressed with their tight musicianship and live performance--I remember watching and not walking off in boredom . I remember thinking that they had potential once they honed their unique style and song writing skills. I got to see them on tour a couple of months ago, and their new material slated for release soon is hot. Their constant touring must have had a heavy creative effect on their new material . I think their recorded stuff is Ok but dosen't recreate how good they played live. New punk with some great licks and vocals. I had a chance to meet them and the Ataris and found them to be nice down to earth guys. Hard working. I found their website and read that they are slated to play dates Warp Tour 2005. If you get the chance to catch their live performance, it is worth it. You can Check out the website: thecommercials.net. Free downloads, a chance to take a listen to some of the older stuff and a video. Looks like they need votes to get a video played on MTV. Hey punkers and supporters of artists creating REAL music, lets get on MTV and vote for this video. I am so sick of the all that corporate manufactured bubble gum bullsh*t spewing all over space from the radio and tv. At least these guys actually write their own stuff and play music in real time--unlike certain bubble brain so called singers who get confused even when they have to lip sync. Support REAL music by REAL people. Thanks for reading this review that emitted from my blackhole brain. I move on to future endeavors and a bowl of Cap'n Crunch . Let's Hope the next Pope is a good one.
