Saw them this weekend at 1st Avenue in Minniapolis. Pretty much just as subtly propulsive as Return to Cookie Mountain would suggest. I had to divert much of my attention to the person who accompanied me there, but I still enjoyed the show. Did anyone catch the Of Montreal show later that week? I was about to go when I realized I wouldn't make it in time to get a ticket.

I just saw TVOR last night in K.C. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. However, the three songs they did for the encore redeemed what I thought was a fairly boring performance up until that point.

I saw them in Chicago last week and I thought it was outstanding. "The Wrong Way" was jam packed with energy and the encore was very spectacular.

Any thoughts on the opener, Subtle? That lead singer was a complete jackass, so I cannot formulate a musical opinion of them.

I'm going in Atlanta on April 13th. I'm hoping for good things and will report back.

Subtle was awesome! I didn't know who they were, actually, until I looked them up after. I need to buy the album.

Sadly, I'm not going to be seeing them with Subtle, but I'll see them in Athens on the 12th of April. Very much looking forward to it.

Yeah, Subtle was cool as hell. Picked up the CD at the show, but not sure what to do with it.

Saw this show in SLC. Subtle killed it. TV on the Radio was really good but it can get a little boring live. Great sound though. They sure attacked their songs with tons of distortion and reverb.

PS - did Subtle play the Steve Albini cover at the end of their set at any other show? I think he must have broke up with his fiance because that song was super intense.

I saw TV on the Radio last year at SOMA in San Diego and it was one of the best shows I went to that year. Everybody around us was into the music - lots of dancing. Its amazing what a difference the crowd can make to a great show - not to take anything away from TV on the Radio's performance (they were great). They had tons of energy live and it translates to the audience - I left the show ringing wet.

Subtle didn't open in San Diego - but don't be turned off by their lead singer. Yes he is a tool, but he is also a musical genius. For Hero: For Fool is one of the best rap albums I have heard in years. They are the most innovative group in the genre. Too much rap these days has little experimentation - this is the shot in the arm rap needs.

I'm just going to jump in to give a high-five to anyone that makes mention of Subtle. I had no idea they were opening for TV on the Radio. It all makes sense now though.

I have a feeling TVOTR would be awesome live. Did they do any Acapella songs?

I saw them at the 9:30 club in D.C about a month ago. I was disappointed, they are not able to pull off the fullness of their sound that was so powerful in Return of Cookie Mountain.

TVOTR didn't meet my expectations for their live performance. Subtle - which I had never heard prior to that night - blew me away. What a great opening act.

Buy For Hero:For Fool; it's on my top ten of the century list.
