Hey, is there anyone at SXSW and if so, which acts have been good; what's the go??
Does anyone have anything to say about the line up or breakthrough artists? What are the Wombats like? (as an aussie, i'm curious)
I'd love to go, but I'm not in the States. C'mon metacritic music lovers, is this not a big, big deal for finding new loves?
Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been, Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene; As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be, So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

Well, I just heard some of an act playing SXSW; namely Sixpartsseven who sounded quite Tortoise-y and pretty fine...

There are many ways to hear the bands. Go to the NPR website, KEXP, or SXSW. There are a ton of downloads of live and pre-recorded music from these bands, including Peter Bjorn & John, Marnie Stern, Mew, Okkervil River, and many, many more, as they say. Have fun!

im looking for pretty much the most uninspired/unoriginal brutal and/or slam death. with little or no variation in vocals. stuff like disgorge(us) and condemned.

But I was hoping to get reports from the frontline so to speak....nothin' beats a live gig....
