i cant describe how good this show was!

99x in atlanta put it on for their annual christmas show and it was perfect.

started at 530 and lasted until 1045! lol.

40 bucks for general admission. 10 for seats in the arena. so it was a great deal who just wanted to sit.

of course i splurged. it was f*ckin modest mouse, lol.

shins were actually upbeat and somewhat poppy which was suprising because i have friends who love them and have seen them at their shows and described them as very mellow on stage.

modest mouse had three drummers for that show!

Very nice, tyig. I caught Modest Mouse a few weeks ago when they were in town and they were really great. Too bad The Shins didn’t open for them; some guy named Matt Costa did instead. Either way, the Modest Mouse show was awesome. They had two drummers for this show, they did a slew of songs off their new album and tons of old stuff as well, including songs off The Moon & Antarctica.

The topper was the last song of the encore; they ripped through an epic rendition of “Spitting Venom,” complete with four instrumental breakdowns and the overall song stretched to well over fifteen minutes, it was amazing. And they truly are one tremendous band live. I’ve always loved them but seeing them live only reinforced that love.

Exactly what you said here --> “hes pretty talented but nothing too great you know? just fun to listen to.” is precisely what I thought as well. He was decent enough, just something decent to hear before the real show started.

wow, I'm so jealous of you top two posters. Spitting Venom is probably my favorite song by them. I was gonna see this great show with Modest Mouse, the Shins, Jimmy Eat World, and Spoon, but I didn't have a ride and it was about an hour away.
