I'm pretty upset with the Atlanta Civic Center. I'm sure it wasn't The National's idea to play right when the doors opened. As it was, I showed up 45 minutes after doors opened to find the band finishing their set. Argh. (No one tell me that they played Mr. November. I wouldn't be able to handle it.)
Luckily, Arcade Fire completely rescued the night. They still had those awesome performance quirks for their older stuff (the two guys drumming on ANYTHING for Laika, Regine's cute dancing during Haiti) and the new stuff sounded great. About 2/3 of the way through Win encouraged everyone to ignore the assigned seating and just rush to the front, which we did. During (I believe) Power Out, one of the guys who was infamously drumming on anything started climbing up the railing of the balcony, and I was almost positive he might fall 20 feet and break his goddamn neck.
Overall, a great show.
