I just wanted to hear your views on the new line-up, that is, if anyone has seen them.

I saw them in Dublin (minus Stuart Copeland from The police drumming as promised) back in July, and Manzarek and Krieger are surprisingly spritely for their age. Their playing ability hasn't slipped either, but I gotta say Ray Manzarek is far too outspoken for my liking. He'd be talking words here and there during songs that Ian was supposed to be singing, and going on one of his 'you can't hug the world with nuclear arms' rants. The revelation for me was the singer though, Ian Astbury, formerly of The Cult. I'm only 22 and don't know much of the Cult's stuff, what I do know is pretty good. I knew he always tried to pass himself as a bit of a Jim Morrison with the Cult, but at that gig he transformed into not 'the' but 'a' lizard king then and there. His vocals were perfect, and he growled alot, which was strange. His dances and movements were completely original, although he did steal the Jim Morrison trademark look (leather pants and turtleneck). Unreal gig though, they had the whole arena singing every song, even the slightly more obscure ones like 'Hiacynth house', 'spanish caravan' and 'soul kitchen'. They seemed as pleased as we did at how it went. Nice trippy visuals at it too, I'm glad I made some cookies.

I just wanna state that if you in any way like The Doors and can put behind you the fact that Jim can't be replaced, you'd love this show.
