So am I to believe that nobody saw Doom? Don't I wish I was in your boat. I only saw it because it was playing in Graman's the weekend I was in L.A. Anyway, I'm gonna paste my netflix review of the film below, in hopes that it prompts at least one person to respond. I'd hate to think I was the only schmoe who saw this junk.
___
A screenplay that feels incomplete at best, bad acting, bad (or no) direction is what sums up cinema's latest slap-in-the-face. Doom has no patience, no intellegence, no subtlety and no respect for the audience. The attempt at a theme feels forced and is embarrassing. The POV sequence toward the end feels as though the rest of the film were put together (in a single day) just to present it. Though it has proven to be very effective in videogames (ie Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, etc.) here it only adds to the absurdity of the film. The major lesson of Doom seems to be is this; ignore all elements of storytelling and character development and you can retire. If you thought Resident Evil was bad, get ready to be enchanted.
