This movie looks utterly wretched! The first time I saw the preview I was disgusted. After a good original with Jim Carrey, this movie looks pitiful. The CG was horrible and everything was it including the baby. IT TRIED to be funny but wasnt in the slightest bit. I havent seen it but hope never to have to see this terrible trash that people can call a "film."

Yeah, I was pretty enraged with it as well. This would be the second sequel to a film that Jim Carrey made hilarious, without Jim Carrey. I wouldn't mind if Mr. Ventura was actually in the film, but even if it didn't look as bad as it does, I would still be disappointed.

Am I the only one on the forums that halfway kind of liked the trailer. I had a sinking feeling it would be awful and after the reviews I bet it is but I was one of those of folks who couldnt decide whether or not I was freaked out or charmed by the in your face CGI. "Cats and Dogs" wasnt terrible and if it's anything like the Tex Avery cartoons that its trying to emulate it couldnt be THAT bad....

...welll I ws WRONG.

Well, Sam, I haven't seen it. But I DO agree with you so much. I thought that if you ditch "the Mask" aspect and forget what you know about it, it would work as a one hour block for looney toons substitute. The previews made the dog look hilarious and I thought that if they stuck to the Child vs. Dog part, I could veg out and watch it.

What really pisses me off about it is the tragic treating of the source material. The Mask was originally a dark comic book series and Loki was a complete bad-ass, not an English fancy pants (all due respect Alan Cummings). The original Mask would mess around playing bouncy bouncy with a baby but would materialize things like UZIs and bats with nails to help a disgruntled working man off a bar full of bikers with shotguns. WHERE IS THAT MOVIE, YOU HOLLYWOOD WANKERS!!!!

This movie was truly disgraceful. What's the deal with constant holywood remakes of everything. Why can't they just higher writers who can actually write original thoughts. I mean its bad but not terrible to put up with the mask 2 because the original also sucked (except for Camron Diaz in that red dress), but the execs bastardize classics, the two greatest travesties to come out of hollywood in recent years is Guess Who (you do not "modernize" Sidney Poitier with Ashton Kutcher) and my personal nomination for hollywood crime no. 1 remaking the manchurian candidate. Denzels great but the movie should never have been done.

What's next, Matt Damon starring in Casablanca.

I still agree with this statement.
