Even with Ben Kingsley and Michael Madsen along with a brief appearance of Billy Zane, this vampire movie never got off the grade with its stilted performances, plodding pacing and uneven editing. No new ground was broken in this vampire half-breed rip off of a female Blade set in the middle ages. Plenty of gore and music are not enough to make this horror-thriller thrilling. One of IMDb's worst movies which is understandable.

Bloodrayne actually came out sometime in January 2006, but yes, it probably did suck.

A difference over definition release date (like with Academy Award criteria which I didn't use in this case). IMDb has this movie being previewed at the Austin Film Festival on October 23, 2005 and at the Splatterday Night Fever on December 9, 2005. So technically the more accepted release date would likely be January 4, 2006 when it opened in Los Angeles, California.

A terrible movie - yes.

BUT i still enjoyed watching the show. I am a fan of Michelle Rodriguez and for some reason I enjoy watching horror shows, vampire movies and bad movies.

Since there are so many bad vampire and horror movies made it gives me a damn lot of viewing and tonnes of guilty pleasure.

Fascinating. I sort of can understand what you are saying. I'm curious. If you could, describe what you actually did enjoy about this movie.
