The game is coming upon us sooner than what I thought. It is speculated to release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC between fall and Christmas time this year. This is shocking to me because one of the biggest titles to release, probably ever, has not had any info, screenshots, or gameplay videos of the upcoming blockbuster.

There is some speculation that it may be placed in Europe...Rockstar is being hush hush about the whole operation and there are not really any verifiable details.

Game Informer had the cover story on it this month and its not based in Europe but the man you play is from Europe, this game goes back to Liberty Streets and its gonna freakin rock, check out the new GI when you get the chance

So far it is lookin pretty sick, and finally we have good GTA graphics (so far...)

The only thing with it being graphically better is that their consumer range might decrease. No matter to me, I'm getting a 360 this summer

Eastern European/Russian (Slavic ancestry), I would say. Here is the trailer for those who have not witnessed it. It takes place in Liberty City, rip off of NYC, but it is smaller than San Andreas. I think the big thing is going vertical, with all of the skyscrapers and so forth. I'm assuming we don't turn into Spiderman and we can actually go inside the buildings to the 17th floor. Its coming October 16, 2007 according to the web site.

Soo for my 360 I got Halo 3 on Sept. 25th, then GTA IV in October...sweet.

don't forget the long delayed Mass Effect sometime in September or October. I've been waiting for that one forever.

Official news from Take Two, the company behind GTA 4 is that it has been delayed to possibly, at earliest, May 2008!!!!

Apparently Rockstar needs more time to develop.

I heard it was pretty much necessary. According to this , GTA was not very impressive at E3 2007.

I'm pretty stoked for this game to come out.
The graphics and details look much better than they did for the earlier games.
Definately one to be played.

I can just see the hours fly by. Hour after hour, day after day. This is the kinda game that can cause people to ignore everything else in their life for an extended period of time. lol

anyone in new york see the giant ad for it on Canal St.? It's a huge printout of a WANTED ad for grand theft auto. I saw some cops looking at it and wondering whether it was a joke or something...

I think GTA IV is a sure nominee for GOTY if not GOTY just because of its mass quantity of goodies to mess with. I didn't ever think I'd be playing GTA with over 16 online multiplayer modes!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Rockstar always delivers on the story and gameplay. I am counting down the days until I can hold it in my hands...then put it in my PS3 for several months if not years without ever removing it for anything else(excape MGS4).

Has anyone actually seen any real game footage where someone is standing/sitting in front of a TV and playing the game? I've seen the videos and such, but no actual game play and I find that a little odd.

Some developers don't release actual gameplay footage of games before they're released. Some video has been popping up on websites from the pirate release of GTAIV since late night on 4/22/08. I'm not 100% certain, but I think the reason for this is that the framerate or texture loading might be an issue to hardcore gamers. I may get back to you on that for confirmation in an hour.
