I apologize in advance for this massive rant!

But...
I’d prefer that Nintendo hold off on the “Mario [insert sport]” games. They’ve long milked that cow dry, and it’s starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth.
What I’d really like is for them to get cracking on the real games. Unfortunately, Nintendo are happy to make their fans wait between titles, I mean, for the past 3 generations, we haven’t seen anymore than 1 proper Mario title on each console. “Proper” meaning an actual action/adventure style game based on Mario.
What we have got so far is Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Galaxy; all brilliant games (excluding sunshine) none the less, but back in the days of the NES and SNES, we saw at least two Mario titles per generation. The NES had Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3, and the SNES saw Super Mario World, and SMW Yoshi’s Island. Hell, we even got three Donkey Kong Country titles on the SNES, while we didn’t
really get one at all on the Cube, unless you count that DK drumming game, which I most certainly do not.

These days it seems like Nintendo loves to churn out these cheap sport/party games, instead of trying to give us more of the classic action /adventures that we really want.
I mean, look at Mario Party for crying out loud:
Mario Party 04 – release date: October 21, 2002 – NGC
Mario Party 05 – release date: November 10, 2003 – NGC
Mario Party 06 – release date: November 18, 2004 – NGC
Mario Party 07 – release date: November 7, 2005 – NGC
Mario Party 08 – release date: July 26, 2007 – Wii
That’s ^ almost a new Mario Party every year for a decade. While this is going on, Nintendo makes us wait 7 years for a new Smash Bros. title, 9 years and counting for a new DK title, and 6 years between each Mario title. I’m sure the years keep piling up on many other Nintendo Trademark titles.
Then you’ve got the sport titles:
Mario Golf – release date: June 11, 1999 – N64
Mario Tennis – release date: July 21, 2000 – N64
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour – release date: July 29, 2003 – NGC
Mario Power Tennis – release date: October 28, 2004 – NGC
Mario Superstar Baseball – release date: July 21, 2005 – NGC
Super Mario Strikers – release date: November 18, 2005 – NGC
Mario Strikers Charged – release date: May 25, 2007 – Wii
Mario Super Sluggers – release date: June 19, 2008 – Wii
If you look at how many Mario Sport titles there were for the NES:
Golf – release date: May 1, 1984
NES Open Tournament Golf – release date: September 1, 1991
And for the SNES:
......
Unless you include Mario Kart, that's it ^ for the SNES; at least that’s all I could find or remember.
Man, It’s no wonder the SNES was so awesome; it
wasn't flooded with stupid sport games. Don't you watch
The Simpsons, Nintendo? You can take the Lee Carvallo out of the putting challenge and replace him with Mario, but it's still gonna be balls. Give us Bonestorm, and watch the people go wild.
It’s undeniable that Nintendo have massively increased the amount of sports and side titles under the name of “Mario.” It seems that having done this, they’ve neglected many other titles in the action/adventure department.
Ditch these “sports” and “party” games, and bring on more action/adventures/racers, I say! Bring on more Donkey Kong’s, Kirby’s, Star Fox’s, Yoshi’s Island’s, Pokémon’s, F-Zero’s, Kid Icarus’s, more Punch-Out’s! And yes, even more Mario titles! One per console is a jib, Nintendo!
And while I’m on the subject of Pokémon, I cannot
belieeeeeve that Nintendo hasn’t yet made, or even talked about a fully 3D, RPG/Adventure Pokémon for the Wii. What are they thinking?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Nintendo should make a Pokémon MMO for the Wii in the vein of their original Gameboy Pokémon Adventure games. Everyone’s trainer could be there Mii, trainers could join gyms or something... With some real effort, I guarantee it would fly off the shelves.
It’s like Nintendo are unaware of the existence of WoW or something. What? Do they really need someone like me sitting at their board room tables trying to hammer these obvious idea’s into their thick skulls, and slapping them across the back of the head like an insolent child every time they come up with another dunderhead idea.
Nintendo's Director:

“Dah! Let’s make Animal Crossing.”
Super’Shed:

*hits Nintendo's Director* “no, No, NO, NO! NOOOO!!!”
