To my delight I noticed that Andre 3000 is the guest programmer for Saturday nights "Rage". I was looking through his playlist of songs and I was quite suprised by alot of the songs he has chosen to play. The old school rap and the Prince were to be expected, but Billy Joel? The Hives? Nirvana? The Clash? The White Stripes?
I think Ill be staying up tomorrow night and watching this. I cant wait to hear the comments he makes about each song. Should be very interesting ...

Well last night was really cool. I stayed up till about 3:30. Andre was awesome, he has soooo much charisma. When he talked he was cool, relaxed, articulate, animated, suave, funny and playful all at the same time.
I was really suprised at how passionately he talked about the rock music he played. He spoke really highly in particular of the Hives; labeling them as "the best group of the decade" and saying that he cant wait for the next record. He said Kurt Cobain is "possibly the greatest musical individual" and gave a great talk of why "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was so popular.
I had to disagree with him though on "Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa having the best hip hop video of all time; having class, effects and funky style.
Anyway, watching Rage last night really gave me a new appreciation of the man.

Ugh! That awful song they were playing during the NBA Finals (I noticed it on Andre's playlist) was the Black Eyed Peas. I hate that group so much. I'll bet they sucked before they sold out, too. How come the year the Pistons make it to the finals, Black Eyed Peas are the ones who do the theme song?
