I hold a spot in my heart for mid 90's pop, and still listen to much of it frequently. It actually makes for a refreshing change from much of the modern music I listen to. Some of my favorites:

Barenaked Ladies - Stunt
Barenaked Ladies - Gordon
Barenaked Ladies - Born On a Pirate Ship
Counting Crows - August and Everything After
Counting Crows - Recovering the Satellites
Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind
The Wallflowers - Bringing Down the Horse
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Blues Traveler - Four
Dave Matthews Band - Crash

I purposely left off albums that would be considered more "pop-punk", like anything from this time period by Green Day.

Thoughts? Additions?

Add:
Oasis' "Definitely Maybe"
the Ace of Base collection (shudders)
Sugar Ray ( Frowner Good lord I hate Sugar Ray )
Madonna had some hits in the mid-90's
Lenny Kravitz maybe

Thats all I can think of right now.

I actually like Sugar Ray Red Face. I don't really like any albums per se, but their beach-friendly summer songs are absolutely contagious. Oasis fits, but the others don't fit the sound I link with mid-90's radio (which I know is entirely personal). Ace of Base and Madonna (especially Ray of Light) were definitely more toward dance pop and Lenny is heavier that the other artists I originally mentioned.

I loved Better Than Ezra's first album. Other albums or songs from them I heard didn't appeal. Caught them live a few years back and they were much better than I expected.

Spin Doctors!

Let's not forget Hootie & the Blowfish, either. Not that that's even remotely possible for anyone above the age of 3 when Cracked Rear View came out.

Eagle-Eye Cherry, too.

Three great mentions! I do still have Cracked Rear View and Pocket Full of Kryptonite somewhere. The only thing I have heard by Eagle-Eye is Save Tonight, but that is a great song.

wow, this thread remembers me of my childhood. I was always listening mainstream pop-rock stuff like the artists you guys mentionned. I'll add to the list:

- Marcy Playground and the song "sex and candy" (yeah!!)
- Silverchair
- Tripping Daisy, with songs like "i got a girl" and "pirhanas"
- 311
- Bush X
etc.

I don't know if i could still like those kind of artists now.

I agree with Jagged Little Pill and Cracked Rear View. The quintessential '90s pop albums. Also good mentions: Crash, August and Everything After, Recovering the Satellites, and Bringing Down the Horse

I submit the following:

Joan Osborne - Relish
Gin Blossoms - New Miserable Experience
Live - Throwing Copper
Sheryl Crow - The Globe Sessions
Toad the Wet Sprocket - Dulcinea
Fiona Apple - Tidal, When the Pawn . . .
Dave Matthews Band - Under the Table and Dreaming
Alanis Morissette - Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

It's amazing how something so annoying 10 years ago can sound so refreshing today. This is why I try not to condemn any band too violently, no matter how much I hate them!

Sister Hazel - All For You

If I hear anything else by them, I'm sure it'll break the spell. So just enjoy this perfect pop song.

Except for Blues Traveler, I hate all these groups. Well, I have a soft spot for Dave Matthews, but that's as far as I'll go. And what about No Doubt?

Live were awesome in the 90’s, I loved everything they did.

Another one I was into, although this was more late 90’s, was Fuel, they had that hit Shimmer, but their album Sunburn is still a favorite.
