Toxic, baby. The best thing Britney's ever touched.

How are you defining Pop? Would something like Missy Elliot's "Work It" count? Or would you consider that to be hip-hop. Pop itself, like indie, never seemed like a great definition of genre to me. If you look at the Top 40 songs in America, you'll see a pretty broad range of styles.

Timberlake's album from last year was pretty good, too.

Yeah, if we're counting things that are hip-hoppy like "Work It" I'd have to agree with Pitchfork and say "B.O.B." by Outkast is probably the best pop song of this millennium. If not, I'm tempted to say "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" by Kylie Minogue.
I think that the best pop songs are those have a bit of a hip-hop feel in them. This is keeping in mind that hip-hop is a culture, a feeling. So if I had to pick the best song of the millennium I would go with either Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” or any of Outkast’s singles (they’re all good!)—but check out all of their albums as well.

I agree with this. I would go with Crazy and Hey Ya as the best "pop songs" of the new millineum. I know they both became insanely popular and probably are trendy picks, but they are both fantastic songs.

Exactly, I know that people like to dump on them because they were overplayed and because they were instantly popular. The “Crazy” song is utterly gorgeous; everything from the synths to the vocals to that trippy bass—talk about a perfect pop song.
And then you have Outkast’s immense catalog to choose from. They are still so far ahead of a lot of people. If the dictionary came with a CD for audio samples of words, any of their songs would be chosen for the word “innovative.”

Rihanna puts out some good singles. "Umbrella" of course, but "SOS" has a good sample and makes a good song out of it.
