Did anyone mention Maroon 5 yet? They haven't been doing much lately so hopefully they trespassed on a property where a sign in the front yard says "Trespassers will be shot." No, that's too harsh I guess, but they should really be banned from the radio. Also... Ashlee Simpson Carrie Underwood Los Lonely Boys (just for that horrible name) Daniel Powter (that'll really give him something to powt about) Kevin Federline

ahh yeah i can, its easy. i hate the 'dem bow' riddim. and reggaeton utilizes this riddim endlessly, it permiates every song. reggaeton is the bastard stepchild of dancehall, dancehall kills.i cant believe that anyone actually thinks that reggaton and dancehall are on the same level. well let me re-phrase, alot of the newish dancehall is crap, because it is trying to americanize...but the classics are un fuk wittable.some of the most sampled songs are dancehall riddims. anyways...thats why i say its a joke genre.

who is debating... i am just stating my opinion, and i think i am more on the same side as you are.i am not trying to push your buttons bro. my opinion is its a joke genre, does that mean its a joke...ha ha...no!!I just dont care fo it, so i tend to dismiss it roughly in public forums like this. i am all for artists making a good living, but genres like reggaeton are su un-necessary... anyways quote: Also... Ashlee Simpson Carrie Underwood
at least they are nice to look at.

That's no excuse, there are better female singers out there, both musically and visually

Sure we do. It is a joke genre. Paris Hilton's new single is practically reggaeton. R&B is a joke genre now too. Just look at Beyonce.

Actually, no. I recently heard Hilton's single, and it's about as close to Reggaeton as UB40 and 311. Besides, I don't see how one untalented socialite's attempts at a certain musical style strengthen the argument that entire genre is a joke. -Paris Hilton as a musician is a Joke -Paris Hilton tries out Reggaeton (which she didn't) -Therefore, Reggaeton-- with all its true practitioners-- is a total joke genre. Sorry, dude. I just don't see it.

Hey, that could be a new S.A.T. question: 5. If Paris Hilton as a musician is a joke and Paris Hilton tries out Reggaeton, which of the following is true? A. Reggaeton is a joke genre. B. Reggaeton is not necessarily a joke genre. C. Paris Hilton is a no-talent wh*re. D. Who the hell cares?

Merq said we had no right to call it a joke genre. I just said we do. We can call any genre a joke genre.

Of course we can. Especially if we don't bother ourselves with the burden of actually giving logical reasons for making such statements. Travis Barker eats babies and takes it up the ass. I apparently have the right to say that about anyone.

do u read, i gave plenty of reasons backing up my opinion. quote: ahh yeah i can, its easy. i hate the 'dem bow' riddim. and reggaeton utilizes this riddim endlessly, it permiates every song.

He didn't say you had no right to, he just said it wasn't really justified, which might or might not be true. People have the right to say whatever they want, doesn't mean anyone has to believe them.

Dude, do you read? I thought it was pretty obvious who I was addressing. And while we're discussing you, I thought your reasons did little to strengthen your argument, anyway. You stated the obvious (i.e., the relationship between Dancehall and Reggaeton), and stated your preference. But I still maintain that your personal preference isn't enough to merit trashing an entire genre as a "joke." But then again, maybe it's all just a communication issue. After all, judging from your "Hip-Hop has no chillout effect whatsoever" post, you may have a problem stating a personal opinion in any form other than a universal statement.
