Black Eyed Peas are probarly the worst band of the 2000's. My Humps and Pump It are two of the worst songs i ever, ever heard...disgusting stuff! Its a real disaster to belive that somebody actually likes their songs.
Speaking of the awesome taste of The American People, Fergie's (or Fergie-Ferg's, apparently) "London Bridge" shot to number one in its THIRD week of release.
And then there's this. As if I needed proof that Stephen Thomas Erlewine was a pathetic hack of a critic.

I actually enjoy most of his reviews. He has seemed to take it upon himself to do the dirty work and write the unpopular stuff lately, like his article on Sufjan and his pans of Bright Eyes' last two albums. Even so, to each his own. I don't plan on listening to either Paris's or Christina's, but you already know I'm a rockist elitist. My local reviewer, Ben Wener, did mention both of those with OutKast's newest though, and Christina won between the three, which seemed shocking, at least until I read the reasons. Paris took last, but that's basically what I would have expected, since I'm a closed-minded S.O.B.

The thing is, after reading that review, I made my way to iTunes to listen to 30-second snippets. After all, Paris or not, a good album is a good album, right?
This thing was a catastrophe, and all I could think of while going from one awful track to the next is how Erlewine didn't just give it a passing grade, he gave it 4.5 frickin stars!

"SexyBack" by Justin Timberlake has got to be one of the worst songs I've heard for a very long time. Where is the melody in this thing? What is it? Thank god it didn't chart too high or I might just never turn the radio on again.
Oh wait - "London Bridge" by Fergie is #1 at the moment. Man, I try not to be too cynical about mainstream radio, but...
Then again, can anything really be worse then "Barbie Girl"?

"Yes, there is no denying that this is a pure piece of product, but it is indeed pure as product. Paris makes no apologies for being mass-market pop, but everybody involved made sure that this was well-constructed mass-market pop."
From S.T.E.'s review of Paris Hilton. So wait. It can be pathetic plastic music, but as long as they don't apologize for making crap it deserves 4.5 stars? Huh?
There was this MC I read about on dusted called Sensational. Everything he does is really nasty lo-fi, like a 4 track that a dog pooped on. My favorite track of his is called "Rock it Right," wherein the most witty lines he could come up with were "I always rock it right/I'm just so cool/uh uh uh/that's a good intro.." or something like that.
