Yes. For this same reason, Eminem is so named to avoid lawsuit by the Mars corporation. Your corporate rap name, should you decide to use it, should be Nyk-E.

Paris is hot and sexy. I'd do her. I haven't heard her music, but if it's catchy and poppy the same way Britney and Christina's music is, I'd probably listen to it and enjoy it.

Are there two hudsons in these forums?

Most people have. You'd be doing all of them too. ________________________________________________________ "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. Timberland actually now has a complete line of outdoors wear, not just boots. Dude, they got jeans and backpacks and the trademark coat with the furry hood and shit. And I actually don't blame pE for mistaking boots with rap

Yeah, but I don't buy Timberlands, so that doesn't really matter to me. I actually knew that, I just... y'know... most people know it as the boot. To show what I do know, however, I believe Nike Inc. might have purchased most of the stock in Timberland, Inc.

If I was $$$$$$$$$$ like she is I would definitely make an album. I would pay killer blues musicians to be the band and I would croak my way thru some blues. Who knows, maybe I can sing and do not know how. I am certain that I could write decent lyrics. P.H. is playing. WHat else is someone like her going to do with her life?

I get that it could be ironically hip to try to defend Paris, but I just don't see why one would make the effort. The only 'art' present is provided by the folks who write the songs, record the music, etc. And those folks will never get recognized for what they did.
I really don't think Paris' approach is tongue-in-cheek. I don't think she's smart enough to know what 'tongue in cheek' means, honestly. She's apparently taking this record VERY seriously. She made a National Lampoon movie (which is supposed to be AWFUL) and she refuses to promote it because she says her career can't handle a film flop right now due to the record.
I've only heard the two singles. "Stars Are Blind" sounded like a mediocre cover of Blondie's "The Tide is High." Or a wannabe No Doubt/Gwen Stefani single. Her voice is weak. The music might be good, but isn't the principle of the thing what's at issue? Why should a shitty singer with no real musical talent get to make a record with good musicians?
I think you just about covered it. ________________________________________________________ "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. I can't believe I am posting on a topic about Paris Hilton.

I don't understand how or why people dislike things like Paris Hilton on principle. It's not like her making a record is immoral or in violation of something. If I hear something and enjoy it and then later learn that what I heard wasn't made at certain artistic standards or whatever, that doesn't mean that my enjoyment was ever less than genuine.

Yes, it is. There are bands and artists out there who will spend their entire lives struggling to perfect their art and never release a major label album. But Paris, because she's a rich slut, just up and makes a CD even though she has absolutely no knowledge of the history of music and no talent whatsoever. All of her "singing" is mutilated with Mellodyne plug-ins to make it appear like she has range and can carry a tune, and she had nothing to do with the music. It's a total travesty. ________________________________________________________ "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs.
