I don't recall the song itself, but a quick Google search turned up this page,

"Sample This"

which claims that the sample was taken from "Tell Me", by Groove Theory.

hmmm in some ways it would make sense that thats where i heard the song especially since that was one of my favorite r&b songs of the 90s but for some reason i thought a harder hip hop group sampled it, anyways thank you for youre kind help
