Art Bell and Whitley Streiber? That's hilarious. They might as well have used Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

yea, I expected this movie to be way better than it really was. I was kinda dissapointed with the short distructive scenes (tornado scene, hail scene etc).

you can't really expect much about a movie titled "The day after tomorrow" but it wasn't total crap. i thought the special fx were believable. i remeber asking my friend how they made such a pretty set and brought in all that wind and water to destroy it. i genuinely thought that everything was real until my freind gave me a "what the f*ck is wrong with you look." even though it doesn't make sense to weigh the end of the world with jake gylennhal's attempt to get the girl, i enjoyed it.

Indeed Brian. The film wasn't THAT bad! I mean, the first half hour is brilliant, thanks to Jake Gyllenhaal and the Special Effects. But then it become slow, a bit boring and ultimately becomes cheesy thanks to Roland Emmerich's inability to find a good script!

"the day after tomorrow" is a masterpiece. throngs of americans illegally trying to cross the mexican border? brilliant. and jake gyllenhal's obvious discomfort? pricesless.

The fact is "Day after Tomorrow" is one of the worst movies I have ever had the misfortune to see. The acting is crap ... well many people seem to understand that, at least. But the science is worse. It is impossible for such a "superstorm" to exist; the idea of rapidly declining temperature violates the Ideal gas law. For those who have actually passed high school physics this means adiabatic heating and cooling do not depend on velocity,ie. no flash frozen mammoths, helicopters, flags or people. By the way those famous Siberian mammoths were NOT preserved intact. The people doing the excavation were nauseated by the stink of putrid flesh. Only their dog seemed interested in this "fresh" meat. Actaully this sounds a little like one of those bullshit stories we used to hear about 150 year olds from Soviet Georgia. i think the only reason people buy into this crap is due to the general illiteracy of the American population. Isn't it true that 45 percent of US citizens think the world is ten thousand years old or less? Check the websites which support these "mammoth" stories and you'll see that many of them are run by creationists.

It wasn't the greatest movie ever, but by no means was it a terrible movie. The whole idea of an "ice tsunami" was kinda cool. And the special effects are very nice. I'd give it a 6 out of 10.
