The Day After Tomorrow embarassed everyone involved. While the weather events showcased in the film may indeed be possible, their impact is overshadowed by the preposterous script. There's not one character in this mess that the audience could possibly care about and everyone seems to make the worst decisions at the worst possible time. I'd have rather watched 30 minutes of well-crafted weather catastrophe special effects than sit through all the ridiculous dialogue and attempts to make a story out of nothing.
Set low goals and you'll never be disappointed.
