When I was creating a poll called "Best Console Goes To....?" under Games on Metacritic, so far X-Box 360 is at the lead, over a few polls over PS3 and Wii.

Of course, I don't own an X-Box 360, I own a Wii. But however, I once think the X-Box 360 is just a noraml console, same as the X-Box.

No, I'm not being sarcastic like "What's SO Great about the X-Box 360?!" NO. I just want to know what's so special about the X-Box 360 to those who owned it and tell me what's special about it, it can be anything about it, games, anything.

Please tell it and let me know what's special about it. Please.

Thanks juxtafras! I checked these games through Wikipedia and even though I like cartoon games, they're great!

However, Tomb Raider: Underworld is also on other consoles while Dead Space is also on PS3.
I mean games which are ONLY on X-Box 360.

Besides games, is there anything else compared to PS3 and Wii? Please let me know because I'm getting slightly interested.

I just got an Xbox 360 this week. I feel like it's a nice compliment to the Wii. (and it's way cheaper than the ps3).

I'm playing Mass Effect, and it's very cool. I think it's just for the 360 or PC. Next on list of 360 games for me will be Fallout 3 (also available on ps3), Tales of Vesperia (360 exclusive).

For me the 360 was attractive because of price (I got the $199 Arcade pack...for $169 from Dell), the games on (I was going to buy a ps3 originally, but now that Final Fantasy 13 is coming to the 360 as well, I see no need), AND if you have Netflix you can stream movies and shows through the 360. I get a game console, and my wife gets to stream "Weeds" and "Dead Like Me" onto the TV.

Looks like you're almost there to own all 3 consoles. Keep it up! Wink

However, a real console collector knows these:
- What's great about the console compared to others
- What's great about the only games in THAT console

That's why, I received some games which are on other consoles. These doesn't count except Gears Of War 2 because I want games which are ONLY on X-Box 360, as I said before.

Anymore besides games? Like the Mii Channel or the Photo Channel on Wii?

It's getting interesting for me now!!! Big Grin

Eh, I'm not a console collector. But my gaming needs were not fully satisfied by the Wii alone. The 360 has better/more RPGs than the Wii (Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Blue Dragon, Star Ocean: The Last Hope [360 exclusive out next year], Infinite Undiscovery, etc...most of those are 360 exclusives.) The 360 has more RPGs that interest me than the PS3, as well. And it's cheaper. PS3 simply does not have a library good enough to entice me to shell out the cash for one.

As far as Wii-equivalent Channels, there's a nifty channel to download game demos, so you can try out some high profile games before you buy (Mirror's Edge and Banjo Kazooie, for instance, have free demos for download.) You can also download trial levels of a lot of the Xbox Live Marketplace games, which is an nice. I wish I could try out Wii shop games before I bought them.

There's a channel for watching game trailers. Like I said, there's the Netflix channel, if you have Netflix, for Watch-it-Now movies straight off the 360.

You can make a kind of Mii-style avatar, if you're into that, too. I think the 360 is a good compliment to the Wii. Play your action and RPG games on the 360 and your party games on the Wii.

Good, but I don't really like RPGs. Why? They're too similar! Hps, PPs, Level Ups, Items, Medicines...........etc. etc. etc. I already got bored of it anyway since they're too similiar. No originality anyway.

Anymore things about the X-Box 360 which has NOTHING got to do with internet? Thank you.

Well that's a silly blanket statement! There are many similar RPGs, for sure. But there are a lot of great RPGs with originality and diversity. You haven't played many of the truly interesting RPGs if you think they're all similar and lack originality. I could say the same thing about first-person shooters, or platformers, or fighting games. In other words, it sounds like you simply don't like the genre. Let's leave it at that and not insult a lot of fine video games.

I was listing channel information because you asked. Frankly, I don't get much out of the Wii channels. Sure, making Miis was fun for a couple of days, but after that the only fun thing about the Mii channel is seeing my friend's Miis wander over...which uses the internet.

For non-internet purposes you're back to playing games, mostly. If you're looking for racing games, RPGs, first-person shooters, and Grand-theft auto style games, the Xbox is the place to go. I think you can use it as a media center if you have a windows media center PC.

I apologize. Actually, the RPG games are great anyway. Not perfect, not outstanding, but great. Let's just say it's not perfect and not mediocre.

However, some games can be changed the way you played. For example, Super Smash Bros may be the same, but it's very different compared to King Of Fighters. This goes to the same to puzzle games and more.

No, I'm not insulting RPG games.... I just hope the new RPG games will change the way we play. That will be more original. And that means more fun. The others are the same, great, satisfying, but originality is the problem.

Oh yeah, since there are certain reasons I can't tell you, I can't use the internet on the consoles really.

And I'm very sure there will be new things which has nothing to do with the internet on X-Box 360. I'm very confident. Like The Photo Channel on Wii.

well first of all ANY game on the 360 is available on the pc so get "360" exclusive out of your head now. the 360 is made (in my opinion) mainly for violent fps or tps games which is really good. can you get, Mass Effect, Halo3, Gears of War2, Left 4 Dead, Fable 2, on the ps3? no, and each one is a kick ass game, plus if you get live the fun never ends. hours of talking/playing with friends watching videos getting game add ons everything about the 360 (except no blue ray) to me is better then the ps3 and everything about the 360 exceeds what the original xbox had. i hope that helped Smiler

Thanks. It did helped. Wink

But however, it's not enough. There should be more games on the X-Box 360 which is recommended. Any more? Don't forget the "original" RPG games and tell me what's different about it compared to the other RPG games.

I'm not sure how to satisfy you. You seem to be looking for something maybe the 360 doesn't deliver... FPSs, RPGs, some good strategy games, racing games, etc. are all great genres on the Xbox. How about platformers? Banjo-Kazooie is not on the PS3 or the Wii.

As for the RPGs with "originality" thing...well, there are a lot of different types of RPGs. Japanese-style (JRPGs), Strategy RPGs (Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, etc), Dungeon crawlers, etc. and on and on.

RPGs like Mass Effect and the Fable II are cool because how you react to situations affects game play...so you can turn your character into a hero or a villain, basically. Mass Effect is an RPG, but the gameplay is more akin to a shooter. Fallout 3 and the Oblivion series let you do as you please. If you're tired of wizards and knights, Persona 4 has you playing as a Japanese school student. You have to make friends, go to class, even try to get a girl friend, all while solving murder mysteries.

This really goes along with what you noted about Smash Bros. and King of Fighters...there are different kinds of fighting games and there are different types of RPGs. And on the originality point...I've been playing the Smash Bros. Series since the first game (I skipped quite a few classes in college playing the first one) and that series has not changed much over the years...they had a good idea and they stuck with it. But the new one is by no means a gaming revolution. I haven't played it as much as I played Melee because it didn't offer as much in terms of newness.

It really comes down to opinion, though. Maybe RPGs aren't for you.

In all fairness, there isn’t really anything all that special or new about the 360 compared to any other console, at least not that I’ve noticed. That’s not to say it isn’t awesome, it does was it needs to do which is play games, and as far as I can tell, it does that just as well as any other console, and the games look just as nice as they do on the PS3.

The only issue I have with the 360 is that it’s unstable. My little bro recently purchased one, and in less than a week it’s already frozen up on us 3 times, and from what I’ve heard, issues like this are not uncommon on the 360, which is pretty unacceptable.

Regardless, it’s great that we’ve got one in the house because I’ve finally been able to get cracking into GTA IV, and Lost Odyssey.

If you’re looking for a good RPG on the 360, you should definitely try out Lost Odyssey; I haven’t finished it yet, but as far as I’ve played, it’s bloody awesome. I don’t know what type of originality you’re after in an RPG, be it the story, or the battle system. LO so far doesn’t seem dramatically original compared to anything else, but I will say that the story is very in-depth, and the way it tells it’s story is much more engaging, and requires a lot more commitment than most other recent RPG’s I’ve played.

LO definitely has that Final-Fantasy-feel to it, which is no surprise because it was produced Hironobu Sakaguchi (creator of Final Fantasy), but IMO it takes from FF in a good way; I keep noticing all these little nooks and crannies here and there when interacting with the towns and the world that just make me smile, and keep me constantly interested in playing.

I see.

But I meant by "not enough" means to me there should be more games. I'm very confident.

And by the way, thanks for the original RPGs. That's very interesting.

Any more comments?

Errr...you're very confident that there should be more games? Or that we should list more games?

Well, there are more 360 games than Wii games. But the real truth is in this console cycle there are a lot of cross-platform games. Most of the games you can play on the 360 are on the PS3 (or the PC). Graphically, they're similar. For consideration, this leaves us with a few exclusives to choose from, price to consider, and functionality outside of basic games. Here is a list of all 360 games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_games

The column that says "exclus." tells you if those games are only on xbox (or PC, most likely). Outside of that, if you can't get on the internet with it, and you're not going to link it to your PC to use as a sort of media center, there's not much that I'd term "special" about it. Like I said, I bought it for RPGs and to use to stream Netflix. That combined with the much cheaper price compared to the PS3 made the 360 a no-brainer in my book. I get to stream my movies; I get to play RPGs and FPSs I was missing on the Wii; I get to play all those games that come out on 360 and PS3, and I paid half the price of a PS3.

Hey, that's great! Thanks, Roboctopus! That's what I wanted!

Here are the interesting games I heard before and I found them:

Beautiful Katamari (Nope, I never played any Katamari games, I'm just interested since I heard a lot about the Katamari series.)

Any Naruto games (Still the same. I never watched the anime. Just.... interested.)

Ridge Racer 6 (I once played a Ridge Racer game on PSP)

Viva Pinata (Any comments about this game, please?)

Well, this does help. Thanks!

Anything nothing got to do with games, I mean, like the Photo Channel on Wii? Since there are certain reasons, I can't use any internet programs.

I only received a few of the good things about the X-Box 360 compared PS3 and Wii.

I mean, can somebody tell me anymore what's great about the X-Box 360 compared to PS3 and Wii?

Compared to PS3 the 360 runs smoother, is cheaper, and has much better online capabilities. Compared to Wii, 360 has much better graphics, higher quality games, and has a broader catalogue to choose from. Honestly, the best part about the 360 is Xbox Live, but I guess that doesn't matter since you can't use the internet. If you wanted cartoon games you already own the best system for it. Some of the great newer Xbox games include Fable II, Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, and GTA IV. The Xbox doesn't have a lot of exclusivity in terms of games, but its games always seem to getting better ratings than the PS3
