I picked up a 360 on launch day, had it pre-ordered since June (about the time when my Xbox crapped out on me)....and I gotta say, I'm thoroughly pleased with it so far. It's not so much the system as it is the 2 games that I've enjoyed.
The first being Perfect Dark Zero. As far as multiplayer FPS's, they don't get any better than this. Online, this game is loads of fun, and if you have friends over, get online and play with them....it's an absolute blast. The weapons, graphics, and gameplay...all top notch. The single player side of things isn't too bad either....the missions are fun and exciting, while co-op adds that touch of strategy when you have to work together to complete missions. All in all, I'd probably give this game a 9.5/10....the only things that's lacking is the story....everything else is FPS perfection, IMO.
The other game I spent extensive time with was NBA 2K6....graphically, the game is amazing, but the gameplay is even better. It's rock solid online too. You can set-up online leagues with your buddies, have tournaments, etc. It's another good reason to own a 360 right now.
I also played Madden 2006, but was thoroughly disappointed....I won't even say much more. I couldn't play the game for more than 15-20 minutes honestly. It's an embarassment.
Other than my terrible experience with Madden....the 360 is a worthy purchase, IMO. I see a lot of negativity about it....but if you were a fan of Xbox and its many great games, 360 is for you....especially with the list of titles that are on the way (Mass Effect, Gears Of War, Too Human, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, etc.). The online play is nice as well...with the gamerscore/achievement system being a welcome addition. Xbox Live arcade is fun too...
Pick up the 360, and make sure you get Perfect Dark Zero....it's one of the better titles released this year.
My gamertag is roywilliams31 if anyone wants to send me a friend invite. Peace.
Eventually, I will break down a buy a 360… when there are a couple of RPGs available. ;-)
I was wondering if Perfect Dark Zero is anything like Oni. Bungie (the Halo team) built Oni and kind of abandoned the game (before the final polish was added) when Microsoft was sorting out how much it would cost for Bungie to sell their souls. ;-) Anyway, I LOVED Oni. It was the perfect blend of “shooter” and “fighter” in any game I’ve ever seen. Switching to shooting mode was just an extension, and never felt like a different experience from the fighting. It was brilliant.
Are there any correlations to PDZ that an Oni fan would appreciate?

From what I played of Oni, I'd say it's really nothing like PDZ....
It's more like Goldeneye (N64)
There is a couple of things that may resemble Oni....the tuck and roll move, 'cover' mode, and futuristic weapons. But the game is basically Goldeneye all souped up for the next gen. It's a beautiful game with great gunplay...and the multiplayer is amazing. If you liked Oni, I suggest you give it a try though, it might have some things that suit your tastes.
Yep, PDZ was amazing for singleplayer, co - op and multiplayer xbox live OWNED. 32 player was awesome also the amazing deathmatch and DARK OPS modes! OMG they are gr8. I was in several clans and that was gr8 to. 2 bad not many people play it anymore as its so old but for the first 6 months of having it was the best game online like EVER! (still is if it had the same amount of players)
