Well I was hesitant to try this game, seeing the only other rpg I've ever played is Fable, and this just seemed to complicating, but I borrowed it from a friend anyways.

The game is amazing. The different quests and journeys are incredible, and much better than Fable. Even me for a beginner for RPG's, I got the hang of it after about an hour, and I've been playing it whenever I'm not at school/track/with friends/sleeping.

Nice to see another Oblivion gamer around. It's usually just me and GZA ranting back and forth and a few other people asking for advice/help.

Welcome to the club! Cool

Dammit...

I've gotten sidetracked recently by Crackdown...amazing game by the way...but I will get back to Oblivion again, and eventually finish it.

I really want to complete the Mages Guild quests, and the Dark Brotherhood....i'm about halfway through each, and they're just starting to get interesting.

Yo GZA I'm kinda stuck in the Mages Guild Quest. I can't find a Fortify Magicka spell that is *targeted*. The only Fortify Magicka spell I found was one that I can only cast on myself.

Hm...

It's not really a quest per-se (although quest elements are involved), but it's basically a new home up in the Jerall Mountains for your character. And it you are a magic user, it's an absolute must.

Spellmaking, enchanting, and summoning atronachs is all done within the tower....while you can also teleport to any Mages Guild in Cyrodill from there with the teleports, you even have access to rare ingredients for alchemy in your own personal botanical garden.

Definitely a must have download if you like magic....plus the house/tower is really cool looking.

I just downloaded the Wizard's Tower. Maaannn... the house/tower is BEAUTIFUL... It definitely cost a huge fortune but it was very well worth every it. Just beautiful. I shouldn't have waited this long to download this side quest, but I guess it all worked out, coz I would have needed all that gold to purchase it anyway.

Besides the botanical garden, I wonder if the chests in the vault respawn their contents?

The Wizard's Spire is a must have, I agree. Good thing I held off on buying a house from one of the towns, because the Wizard's Spire was well worth the wait (and all that money!).

Yeah, the Wizard's Tower was real cool....a nice little getaway for your character, and you can create a bunch of things there....kinda reminds me of a mad scientist lab...haha.

But anyways, for your previous question....I think the "fortify" spell you're looking for can be found in one of the mages guilds or another store, forgot what it was called...but it wasn't Edgar's Discount Spells....dang, I'll have to look.

Quick Question... I rented Oblivion when it came out and instantly loved it but was thinking of purchasing it. Is there anywhere where the game is less than $60? If so, please post a reply.

When I came back to the Tower to find all the furniture delivered and set up, I was just, wow. This is why Oblivion is a great game. Always finds a way to impress the gamer.

I still haven't found the targeted fortify magicka spell, I would appreciate your help if you remember where you found it. Thanks.

Everyoneanindividual, you might be able to buy it used, but I've honestly never seen it for sale as used. The game is too good for owners to give up Smiler It's worth the 60 bux, I'm tellin ya.

Regarding the targeted fortify magicka spell, I sorta gave up looking for it and just made it myself at the spellmaking altar in my home (the tower). Which I coulda done ages ago, wonder why I hadn't thought of it sooner.

The funny thing is, there's a chest behind the guy that has all the scrolls you need! Doh!

ive been playin this game for about 24 hours reached only level 15 ... ive only made it as far as droppin martin to the blades compound and done a few side quests .. this game has had me caught since i put it in the 360 ... went with an Argonian assassin under the thief birthsign ... joined the blades and Dark Brotherhood ... but dayum in a 24 hour period i woulda figured i would have had more done ... but (UN)fortunatly i have become a vampire and have stolen or found only 4 Grand soul gems .... my question is what is better mace of doom or the SufferThorn or even the Mehrunes Razor? all of wich are chearged weapons ... i mean in every aspect they have their usefulness such as the Sufferthorn has Drains STR by 7 Pts. on strike with a damage health 15 pts on strike .... mean while Mehrunes Razor has Daedric Banishing on strike along with a disintergrate armor 10 points for 5 seconds on strike.... and the mace of doom has fire damage 17 points in 10 ft for 5 seconds on strike .... and my other confusion is what armor is better ? Morag Tong ( full set ) or Shrouded Armor and hood with Pentamagic loop Crueltys Heart Black Band and a fur shield... also has anyone encountered the crazy notion that their right joystick has a mind of its own ? mine seems to like to push right and spin my character while im tryin to talk to a merchant and i end up stealin stuff

If you're at a loss as to which weapon you should use, don't necessarily choose the one that has bigger numbers. We tend to think bigger numbers is always better coz bigger numbers = more power. Always choose the weapon that is tailored to your style of play and fits well with the environment you're questing in. If you're fighting in a zone teeming with Daedras, then maybe Mehrunes Razor would be your best option. Sufferthorn and Mace of Doom seem to be generally useful, so they should be okay to use anywhere (but Mace of Doom wouldn't be as damaging to creatures with Fire Resistance).

I've never had a problem with the right stick. That's weird. Maybe your controller's whack.

Right... this is the exact point I'm stuck at in the game. I wasted the scroll from the chest already. How do I make the spell? I've tried but so far no joy. How do I find out how to make it? Help a Dark Elf in distress!

Thanks for all the help guys!

I solved it myself... the scrolls in the dungeon regenerate after about 4 days. Clearly no one is interested though!
